This stylish Manor dating from the 18th century, used to be healing place and stopover for pilgrims on their way to St Jacques de Compostelle. IIt also used to shelter five nuns. Lovingly restored to preserve its authenticity with parquet floors, monumental ebony staircase, original tiles and fireplaces, this luxurious holiday home will take you back to the time of the Cathars who left a deep imprint here and will give you long lasting memories. All the bedrooms have high ceilings and large dimensions, overlook the garden and castle and are furnished with original antiques.
Benoite, on the ground floor, is next to the garden. Decorated in pink toile de Jouy, it is wheelchair accessible.
Adèle is a green ensuite double room in Japanese print fabric.
Aponine has the original furniture and bed from the time of the pilgrims to St Jacques de Compostelle.
Alice is a large Suite with standing-in dressing room, own sitting-room, silk ciel de lit overlooking the castle. It has its own hidden safe from the time of the convent sheltering the nuns.

The house opens onto a large walled-in garden; a sanctuary for birds and butterflies, it is ornamented with huge trees such as a several century old lime tree and a 13th century shrine linked to Montsegur. A large entrance hall with tiled floors leads to a vast fully fitted kitchen with all amenities.Typically French, overlooking the garden, it has everything from every day use to fine china from Limoges , silver cutlery and damas tablecloths. On the ground floor are also a study and an ensuite bedroom, a living-room and dining-room in antique Chinese furniture and crystal chandeliers from Baccarat, a library containing rare books on Catharism, Asian wisdom and Tibetan philosophy. All bedrooms upstairs have great comfort, special charm and atmosphere, overlooking the huge lime tree, palm tree of the garden and the castle of the village. Our family home offers ultimate serenity and intimacy while close to everything. The Presbytère has many more secrets to reveal in time !

Wonderful walks from the presbytère door in unspoilt nature with scenic views of the Pyrenees. 2 minutes drive from the lake of Montbel with beach for swimming, bike-hire, horse-riding and walking. 10 minutes drive from Mirepoix for Monday market, festivals, restaurants etc. 20 minutes from Pyrenees ski-stations of Monts D'olmes and famous Montsegur castle in Cathar country. 30 minutes from medieval cite of Carcassonne and golf course. Andorra and Mediterranean coast easily accessible for days out.
