Vacation Rental Description
La Fount has two houses each with a private south-facing terrace and wonderful views of the Pyrennes. La Maison is on 3 levels. The ground floor is built into the mountain where there is a reading area, and a shower room, with washing machine and seperate toilet. The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen with dining and lounge area. There is an efficient wood-burning stove. The first bedroom is on this level with a double and large single. The top floor has a double bedroom and ensuite shower and toilet.
La Grange is a very spacious house on two levels strictly for two, also with wood-burning stove. The ground floor has a split level with kitchen/ dinner and lounge area. The bedroom above has a vaulted ceiling and a beautiful solid oak bed, there is an ensuite shower room.
Both houses have been lovingly renovated with taste and authenticity, with exposed ancient beams, stone walls and beautiful furniture. There are no televisions on the property but there is free internet access and we provide copious amounts of books. The Ariege is for exploring but its nice to have your haven to return to.

Electric heating and wood for the wood burning stove are all inlusive to the rental price, plenty of hot water and the water is under pressure so showering is a dream.
We provide all bed linen, plenty of towels and even some to take on picnics, picnic basket, barbeque and comfortable garden furniture.

The Ariege has everything to offer but is still so unspoilt, there is even a small safe beach on the river Ariege where there is water-skiing by tele-ski, so no boats,just 10 minutes drive. The historic Cathar castles of Foix, Montsegur Puivert and many more, a must and the many prehistoric caves to explore. For the extreme sportsperson there is pot-holing, paragliding and all winter sports, cross-country as well as down-hill, dog sleighing etc.
Autumn brings mushrooms, berries and nuts in the forests, easy to gather while walking on the milliards of trails.
Andorra for shopping, Toulouse and magical Carcassonne and closer Mirepoix and Foix with their medieval shops and arcades. There are plenty of festivals and fetes and weekly markets and time to relax at a cafe without the crowds.
Just a few meters from La Fount is a small boules ground (we provide sets), picnic table and the most fantastic views, nice place for an apertif, meet a friendly villager before dinner.

- Travel Info: Montoulieu is well situated south of Andorra just 3km off the main Toulouse to Andorra road with only one hours drive to either Carcassonne or Toulouse airports. Andorra is an hours drive, the many ski slopes only half an hour or a short train ride from Foix.
The village is elavated above the valley with stunning views and although so close to all amenities retains its peaceful tranquility and is in the new Natural Park of the Ariege
