Vacation Rental Description
The cottage is part of a secluded mountain hamlet recentlty restored using traditional materials with an emphasis on conserving the natural habitat and environment.
The hamlet faces South East and is beautifully placed to catch the early morning sun.
This is a place of superb mountain vistas and soaring eagles, lying at an altitude of 900 mtrs and looking out over the Ariège valley at Mont Fourcat (2000 mtrs) and the Cathar Abbey fortresses of Montségur and Roquefixade.
Set in 3 acres of tranquil forest and wildflower meadows, the hamlet also has several terraces under cultivation with organic vegetables and fruit trees.
The different seasons bring forth a wide variety of of rare flowers and fauna. Deer, pheasant, wild boar (no brown bears yet!) are regular users of our tracks.
The mountain cottage has a lounge/kitchen with a raised lounge area with soft furnishings around a wood burning stove, the soul of the gite. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas cooker, microwave, washing machine and fridge-freezer.
There is a separate WC and shower room.
There are 2 double bedrooms, both with washbasins, one with a double bed, the other wtin bedded, both with beautiful views out over the valley.
outside is a large private grassy area with sun terrace overlooking the mountains, various garden furniture and a barbeque.
There is ample room for private car parking.
Whilst the splendid isolation of the hamlet gives it a magical unspoilt atmosphere, the market town of Foix is only 15 mins drive away.
Some guests come simply to enjoy and partake of the peace, quiet and positive airs of the hamlet but everyone delights in the pure, fresh mountain air and the cool water of our mountain spring.
