LE PELIOOU is a restored stone barn situated at 3000ft elevation on a south facing hill between forest and pastureland, enjoying a superb panoramic view of the high Pyrenean peaks as well as the Garbet river valley and the village of Erce below. It has just been classified 3 epis by 'les Gites de France'. The interior of the house has been renovated for maximum confort: a terrace and veranda have been added to the original building so that the view can be admired any time of day or season. 
Total peace is assured as there are no neighbors or noise other than the sounds of cow bells or mountain streams.  
Le Pelioou is situated in south of France, in the Pyrenees mountains and the department of Ariege. It is 120Km from international airports of Toulouse or Carcassonne and one and half hour drive passing the cities of Saint-Girons, Oust and Erce. From the village of Erce a 2 km unpaved passable road climb to the house through meadows and forest.

- One small bedroom with 4 bunk beds and a balcony.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES: 
 
Trout fishing: For fishermen we have a small lake near the house. Most of the time there are trouts in and you can fish. You will not need any permit and we will supply you with fishing equipment. Contact us for more details and to know if it will be possible to fish when you will come. 
You can also go for horse treks, mountain biking, mountaineering, paragliding, climbing, trekking, farniente. Picking mushrooms, chestnuts, wild strawberries, raspberries & blueberries. Excursions w. donkeys for children, Spa for relaxation & fitness. Nearby, many caves and museums can be visited as well as typical village markets. 
And for all, mountain air makes you hungry, you will enjoy traditional food and nearby good Restaurants. 
Ski station of Guzet neige is 12 km from the house at1600m elevation. Season usually starts in December and finish end of March. 
Erce has an unusual link with the USA through the bear dressers of long ago. You might be surprised at the number of inhabitants who will greet you in English. 
In our house you will get comfort, peace and good air. Remain good food and wine. Here is a guideline for gastronomes and amateurs of good wine.
