Vacation Rental Description
La Balayrie has been a labour of love for over 18 years, but we now would like to share its charm and tranquility with fellow lovers of the French way of life.Set in the Lower Normandy countryside it has lovely rural views. Restored to its former glory, with a wealth of beams, granite and space.
The house is split into two, so could be enjoyed by a couple or two families (it can sleep 8 comfortably). An interconnecting door divides the old stone house from the newly converted barn. There are two bathrooms and two well equipped kitchens. Equipment includes dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, as well as the usual appliances you would expect. Central heating, wood burner and TV/DVDs - either French or English TV can be watched, CD player, many books, games, toys etc. so it is very homely whatever the weather.
A travel cot and highchair are available. The large garden is surrounded by farmland, but has a BBQ, patio areas and garden furniture.
The house is one hour from the port of Ouistreham, (Caen) and is surrounded by many places of interests, from Chateaux to forests, gardens, walks, 2nd World War sites, cheese, cider routes, markets and activities to satisfy most interests. Prices range from £250 -£450 per week depending on occupancy and time of year. Linen and towels are included. Local English ‘caretakers’.
Facilities
There are 2 kitchens, so two groups/families can be independent at say breakfast. There are 2 fridges, 2 ovens/hobs and 1 freezer. The house is provided with bed linen and towels. There are local english caretakers who can help with any problems.
Activities
There is a tennis court and park in Ranes, where there is also a table tennis table (free) basketball, childrens play area, fotball, mini golf.
There is a small fishing lake, with picnic areas.
At la Ferte Mace there is a manmade lake with 'beach', water sports activities, go carts, games, mini golf

The prices depend on occupancy and time of year. 30 % is required at time of booking, the balance is due 4 weeks before the holiday. Cancellation insurance is recommended as refunds will only be given in the event of the week being re - booked. Payment can be in sterling into an english bank, euro to a french bank or paypal - but with this payment the charges would need to be shared
