Vacation Rental Description
Normandy is both undiscovered and magical....
Step back in time, but not in comfort, and unwind in tranquility in this newly converted cottage set in the garden of our little Norman farmhouse. The views are endless and the peace is total, but we are only 5 minutes by car from the main N12 road to Paris.
Accommodation
The accommodation consists of a spacious beamed main room with well-equipped kitchen corner and hearth with stairs leading to an equally spacious light and airy bedroom with double bed, en-suite shower and toilet etc. For people not wishing to share a bed a single one can be arranged. All linen for bedroom, bathroom and kitchen is provided.
Bikes are available for a small fee. Perfect roads and tracks through countryside and forests by lakes and small hamlets etc. RIDING is available nearby and also GOLF on the Centerparcs course 5 miles away. Step out the door and you are on a walking track.

Eating out:
Very good local eating facilities at Routiers, and regional cuisine at excellent prices in local towns.
What you can see:
Countryside all round. Wonderful views across countryside from the cottage. Local villages 2 kms away to the east and the west. We are situated next to the Perche, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty full of chateaux, lakes, hills and forests.
This is France's primary horse breeding region with the largest national stud an hour away. It was set up by Napolean originally to supply his armies. Visits all through the summer with a special show on thursday afternoons. Very reasonably priced.
What you can do
Swimming in the lakes near Abbé de la Trappe. Every town has a swimming pool. Riding in any of the local establishments. Bird watching from the cottage window. Numerous gardens and chateaux to visit. Chartres, Le Mans, Paris, Versailles all easily reached from here. Many local markets, including L'Aigle, which is the third biggest in France. Cycling here is like cycling in paradise after England. Bikes available on site. Lazing in our sunny sheltered garden. Golf at Center Parks 4 miles up the road.
What you get
All cooking and heating facilities included in price. Linen for bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Own outside sitting and eating area in garden. Barbecue. We also put a small start-up supply of goodies in the fridge for your first morning. No need to rush out early. A deposit of £40 secures the cottage and the rest in Euros after arrival.
