Vacation Rental Description
This charming studio-apartment style gite is situated next to a 16th century cottage in a secluded, rural location yet only 5 minutes from the nearest village of Sainte-Mere-Eglise. There is a good-sized living/dining area with open-plan kitchen overlooking the south-facing cottage garden, itself overlooking an apple orchard regularly occupied by sheep. Beautiful sandy beaches within 8 miles including D-Day landing beaches. The National Parks offer bird-watching, fishing and other rural pursuits. This is an ideal spot from which to explore the delights of Normandy: Bayeux, Coutances, St-Lo, Sainte-Marie-du-Mont and Barfleur are just some of the places within easy reach.

    • Patio area with table, chairs and bbq. Local shops just a few minutes drive away. Excellent tourist board in Sainte Mere Eglise. There are several golf-courses in the area, the nearest being approx 10 miles distance. Beautiful (and uncrowded) beaches, the nearest being approx 8 miles away. The National Parc information centre can arrange walks, bird-watching, boat trips and other activities. The area is very popular with walkers and cyclists and there are many specific cycle-routes. Guests often bring their own cycles although I do have a couple which guests are welcome to use by prior arrangement. The nearest train station is in Carentan and it is possible to visit Paris and be home in time for supper!

    25% deposit required, balance payable one month prior to arrival. The deposit can be paid into either a UK or French bank account, final balance payable in Euros. As a rule the deposit is non-refundable but I always make a refund if that space is re-booked.
