The countryside around us is agricultural, peaceful and quiet. There are small towns and villages all around and just 10 mins away is the beautiful sandy beach at Hauteville-sur-Mer with a sailing school nearby. Sand as far as you can see in both directions!

Coutances is just 10 minutes away and is famous for its lovely cathedral, seen on the skyline for miles around. Granville, 20 minutes away, has all you will ever need in a seaside town. Honfleur, Barfleur, St Malo and Mont St Michel are all within easy reach. The famous Normandy landing beaches too.

Nearby towns have their own special markets on different days. Not to be missed: Villedieu-les-Poeles ('God's town of the cooking pans') on Tuesday; Granville on Saturday and Coutances on Thursday. Lovely fresh local grown produce and best of all, sausage baguettes! There are supermarkets in all the towns, restaurants and bars. A super boulangerie in Trelly just down the road and a patisserie on every corner! You haven't lived until you've tried French bread and pastries!!!

KITCHEN: Large kitchen/diner. All electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine. Table to seat 4-6. Coffee-maker, kettle, toaster and iron. Vacuum cleaner, clothes airer. Fridge and freezer. Plenty of good quality crockery, pots and pans. All linen provided.

LOUNGE: Comfy with two large new settees, seats 5 adults easily. Also, a large pouffe and a padded swivel chair. Large windows opening onto pretty gardens and bbq area. The gite is electrically heated with thermostatically controlled heaters in lounge and bedrooms. The lounge also has a log effect free standing fan heater. English tv, video player/recorder and cd player.

BEDROOMS: Two bedrooms. One double bed with en suite bathroom. Double bed with orthopaedic style mattress. The second room has 2 single beds. All linen is provided. A new travel cot and fold-away bed also available.

BATHROOMS: En suite to double bedded room. Full size bath, shower, wc and hand basin. Second bathroom, has walk-in shower, wc and hand basin.

ENTERTAINMENT ON SITE: English tv, dvd player, video recorder/player, cd player. Books both adult and for children, jigsaws, cards, sudoku books, paper and pencils. Boggle game, dominoes etc. One or 2 toys for smaller children, (Noddy car, stuffed elephant etc). Garden games for children include, quoites, frisby, croquet.

GARDENS AND OUTSIDE: Pretty garden and lawn with BBQ for your own use. Garden table and chairs, swingball for the children (and adults?). We welcome visitors into our main garden. Help if you like! Gardening tips and ideas welcome!

PARKING: Off-road parking area for 2 cars at the side of the house.
Suitability: Suitable for all ages, the house is situated just outside the village along a country lane, with pleasant quiet areas for walking.

GENERAL: 'Les Hirondelles' means 'the swallows'. Unfortunately we cannot boast swallows, but we do have our own resident tawny owls, returning annually to nest. Cows in the field one side and a pleasant family on the other side

OUTSIDE DINING In the garden of your Nomandy gite... The gite has its own slice of delightful garden with a BBQ and patio furniture for a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the french countryside. We welcome our guests into the main garden, there’s always some project or other on the go so suggestions and new ideas are always welcome.

Normandy is a gastronomic delight - where you can start the day with freshly baked bread and croissants, stop for a lunch of Moules Frites in a local bistro.

Just 7km away is the beautiful cathedral town of Coutances with its elegant shops, public gardens, theatre, bars and restaurants

The Dior gardens at nearby Granville are a delight, stroll through the gardens and smell the roses!...

FOR THE CHILDREN,the beach at Hautville sur Mer, 10 minutes away has sand as far as the eye can see and is ideal for small children to play and collect shells, without the usual trappings of fun fairs and penny arcades.

Champrepus is a super Zoo near to Villedieu. With well cared for animals each with their own natural space. Allow plenty of time, it's big and not just animals; there’s the rope walk, lovely gardens and a great restaurant.
