Vacation Rental Description
The cottage sleeps 6, plus cot, and has an open plan, oak beamed lounge/kitchen/dining area with a traditional large fireplace, wood burning stove (1 bag of logs provided), tiled flooring and central heating. The interior is traditional French farmhouse, with white walls and honey coloured woodwork. It is set in a large grounds off a very quiet country lane. There are lovely walks in the nearby beech woods and country lanes.
La Tullerie is set in 1-2 acres of secure grounds planted with apple, pear, peach and plum trees - secluded but close to Brécey - and offers the perfect base for exploring Normandy's many attractions.
Living Room: The oak beamed living room has an open fireplace and log burning stove. It is equipped with British satellite TV, a video, DVD, and CD player. There are many CDs, videos and DVDs for you to use, plus a bookcase with books, indoor games and holiday guide books and details. It is furnished with two comfortable sofas .
Kitchen: The kitchen/dining area has seating for 6 and has modern, white kitchen units with an integral oven. There is also a fridge, washing/drying machine, dishwasher and micro-wave. It is fully equipped with kettle, toaster, cafetiere, kitchen utensils, plates, cutlery, dishes and pans etc - all you need for a holiday home.
Bedrooms: The comfortable downstairs bedroom has an en-suite, WC shower room and is furnished with twin beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, with a French style white double bed and a single bed, a single bedroom and a separate bathroom. The double bedroom has a high pitched ceiling with beautiful wooden beams and two windows with views of the surrounding countryside. The single bedroom has a south-facing dormer window with views of the orchard.
Bathrooms: The en-suite has a WC and shower. The bathroom upstairs has a WC, bath with shower attachment and velux window with views to countryside.
Garden/Outside: The grounds of approx. 1-2 acres are planted with many apple, apricot and plum trees. There is a fence all around the property and it is a very safe area for children to play. There are some old barns also in the grounds. On the south side of the cottage there is a walled patio with sun loungers, table and chairs and barbecue perfect for peaceful, relaxing meals. Games can be played on the grass or drive area. There is ample parking space.
Pool: There are two open air swimming pools and a paddling pool with life guards, tennis courts and a small lake within 10 mins walk or 3 mins drive of the cottage.
Gastronomic Delights!
Near Saint Pois, about 10 minutes drive away, is the Moulin de Jean a superb gourmet restaurant within a beautifully restored water mill which offers great value and service.
In Brécey try the restaurant Auberge des Sports which serves homely French fare.
Avranches, about 20 minutes by car, offers a range of restaurants including La Belle Epoque for good food in an interesting setting; Saint Marco for good food in nice surroundings; and Le Port D'Etain, a friendly little place with good French fare.

Electricity is included. Bed linen and towels are provided if required at 7.5 Euros per person per week. A hairdryer is provided.
In 2010 the cottage was completely re-decorated; the roof was replaced; a dormer window was installed on S side; the fireplace was refurbished; a new wood-burning stove provided.
Nearby Brécey, 5 minutes drive, has several small shops, a bakery, supermarkets, restaurant, bank, petrol station and garage. Market day in Brécey is Friday, where local produce, fish, vegetables and Normandy cheeses are sold.
Gastronomic Delights
The Moulin de Jean near Saint Pois is a superb gourmet restaurant offering great value and service. In Brécey the restaurant Auberge des Sports serves homely French fare. Avranches has many restaurants including La Belle Epoque for good food in an interesting setting; Saint Marco for good food in nice surroundings; and Le Port D'Etain, a friendly little place with good French fare.

There are two safe open air swimming pools and a paddling pool with life guards, tennis courts and a park with a lake all within 10 minutes walk or 3 mins drive of the cottage. Opposite the swimming pool there is a horse show-jumping arena where events are held.
Mont St Michel is approx. 40 mins by car. Mortain, 35 mins, has superb walks beside 2 waterfalls, pony-trekking, go-karting and the Abbaye Blanche (White Abbey). Avranches, the nearest large town, is approx. 20 mins. drive. It has many shops and restaurants, banks, museums, famous gardens and a leisure park.
Normandy's beautiful sandy beaches are 30-40 mins by car. Bayeux with the famous tapestries is an hour's drive. The D-Day landing beaches are a short drive from there. There are golf courses close to Granville and Vire which are both 40-50 mins by car. Trains to Paris run from Villedieu which also has a Zoo nearby.
