Vacation Rental Description
Le Desert is a gorgeous 17th century rustic house set deep in the tranquil surroundings of rural Normandy. Built 'en pierre' with metre-thick granite walls, parts of the structure date back to the thirteenth century, although the Church charter dates back even further to the Norman Conquest when "Notre Dame de Le Desert" was established by William de Presles "'in propitiation for his sins against the English'!
It comfortably sleeps up to 10 people in 2 doubles and 2 family rooms and is set in it's own extensive enclosed garden with the cider orchard (complete with the oldest recorded well in the area) adjoining.
Situated in the heart of Calvados Le Desert provides the ideal base to explore the luxuriant countryside by foot or pedal-power and you are in easy driving distance of Normandys famous historical town and coast. And if golf is your bag - Normandy really is a secret treat, with dozens of superb uncrowded courses waiting to be conquered!
