Vacation Rental Description

The cottage is situated in beautiful, peaceful countryside and is the perfect base for exploring Normandy and it's many attractions. It is a haven for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. Thury Harcourt is approximately 5 kms and is a popular destination for water sports. There is fishing, swimming and kayaking on the River Orne and also an Aquatic Centre in the town. Mountain Bikes can be hired locally with various circular routes departing from Thury Harcourt. Suisse Normandy is renowned for its beautiful scenary, walking and of course the wonderful food of Calvados. Various footpaths leading from the cottage.

Valgosse is a traditional French cottage with an open plan kitchen diner. It is well equipped and has a wood burning stove. A small television is provided should you wish to spend a cosy night in by the fire. The double bedroom with window seats overlooks a beautiful valley. Very comfortable bed with quality duvet and pillows ensures a good night's sleep. There is also a cosy living room on the second floor with comfortable armchairs and settee. The settee converts to a very comfortable bed if required for extra guests. Satellite TV/DVD and heater for a relaxing night in. Lots of storage space if the room is to be used as a second bedroom. Towels and linen are available to hire.

The area is a haven for walkers. There are various circular footpaths leading from the cottage enabling you to visit the villages and hamlets in the area. Being keen walkers ourselves we have provided copies of the Randonnees en Suisse Normandy for your convenience. These are detailed circular maps ranging from 3k to 16k all within a short drive of Thury Harcourt.

Thury Harcourt has various bars and restaurants together with the usual amenities including patisserie, supermarkets, banks and doctors. There are many other restaurants in the tourist villages of the Suisse Normandy where you can dine by the River Orne. Tuesday market in Thury Harcourt.

Valgosse is approximately one hour to the D-Day landing beaches. There are numerous resorts and beaches stretching from Grandcamp-Maisy to Honfleur all within easy reach of the cottage. Not to be missed is Port-en-Bassin with its Sunday morning market. Many seafood restaurants.
