New for 2009 free wi-fi internet connection The Owl barn is set in the beautiful calvados countryside, jus a short drive from the D Day Beaches, and is a perfect place to explore this unspoilt corner of Northern France. Each little village has its own story to tell about its liberation in the summer of 1944, and our village has its own museum to commemorate this. 
There is plenty for all the family to see and do, from canoeing to bungee jumping. On the River Vire you can hire a canoe for the day, take a walk along the Vire to St Lo towpath, and for a small fee enjoy miles of excellent fishing. We are just 5 miles from the world’s first permanent bungee jumping site, where you can have a go yourself, or try the 100kph zip line, or the tree top adventure park. This is open every day during the summer months. There is a local zoo, and a small theme park a few miles away on the out skirts of Caen, for younger visitors. 
Close to the gite are several excellent restaurants, where all the family can eat at very reasonable cost, and in our village just 2km away you have a full range of small shops. The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes drive away.

    • The Owl Barn is a large family friendly gite set in 8 acres of meadows and farmland along side the English owners home. Down stairs is a large lounge dinning area with a farmhouse style dinning table that sits 8, and a range of sofas and arm chairs You will have English TV, and Wifi internet access, and a CD player. the kitchen is fully equiped with all you should need including a dishwasher. There is one doble room down stairs, and another double room, and two twin roons on the first floor. There is a large family bathroom, with a hydro massage shower. Outside you have a large sunny rear garden, where you can enjoy a glass of wine whilst the children play in the aboveground pool. The gite enjoys stunning views, and on a clear day you can see up to 8 miles down the Vire Valley. On the 8 acre site the owners keep dogs cats sheep chickens, and pigs for you to make fiends with, and feed your left overs!
