This beautiful large self-catering vacation house / gite can be found in the rural Limousin region of central France - the "land of a thousand lakes". The house can be found in the historic village of St Germain les Belles, just 30 minutes south of the city of Limoges, 4 hours south of Paris and 45 minutes north of Brive. It's the perfect place to stay if you want a really relaxing holiday - the village is surrounded by tranquil countryside and yet has some great local amenities within walking distance. Discover the village lake and sandy beach, local shops, several restaurants... Really useful if you don't want to hire a car! Entirely renovated, the interior is tasteful and bright, with many original features and stunning oak flooring.

· There are 6 comfortable bedrooms (sleeping a maximum of 14 people), 5 of which have private bathrooms.
· There is a large kitchen that is fully equipped for groups who enjoy eating in - we provide ample crockery, a large gas oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge / freezer, huge table...
· Adjoining the kitchen is the spacious lounge, where you can relax in front of the satellite television (with DVD player), or chat to friends in comfort.
· The large, private garden and terrace overlook the peaceful Limousin countryside and is the perfect setting for a relaxing glass of wine.
· All linen, towels, electricity and central heating (in winter!) are included in the rental price.
· This is definitely a child-friendly vacation rental and we are happy to provide items to make your holiday a little easier e.g. toys, high-chairs, cots…

Groups can come and visit us all year round, perhaps during periods when travel arrangements are cheaper – every window is double-glazed and each room has central heating (also included in the rental price).

Limousin has been called the 'French Lake District' and will offer you some of the most unspoilt, natural landscapes in France. You are never far from a lake where you can swim, sail or fish, (great - and free entertainment for the children!) or the huge network of meandering country walks across rolling hills and forests – come and experience a slower pace of life and true, rural French culture.

The attractive city of Limoges boasts many attractions and is particularly famous for its porcelain and old quarter. Discover the abundance of interesting boutiques, medieval churches, restaurants, antique markets… it is definitely well worth a visit.

For the outdoor enthusiast and those of you who enjoy countryside rambling, there are numerous activities in the surrounding region. We can tell you all about our favourite walks, beauty spots and places to watch birds. If you enjoy cycling holidays, bicycle hire is available within the village and there are many local routes through quiet country villages.

There are also several Climbing locations in Limousin, including Aubazine (Saut de la Bergère), Bort les Orgues (Orgues), Gros-Chastang (Le Pont de Sagne), Uzerche (Rocher du Moulin in the Vézère Gorges) and Voutezac (Saut du Saumon).

We strive to be child-friendly vacation accommodation - being a young family ourselves, we understand the pressures (and pleasures!) of taking the children on holiday. We can provide some of those 'bulky' items that are difficult to pack for a holiday (travel cots, high-chairs, toys, baby baths, stair-gates, etc.) - just let us know what you need when booking and we will do our best to provide it.
We welcome disabled guests and consider ourselves to be wheelchair-friendly holiday accommodation - please contact us for further information about our accessible, ground-floor bedroom and private bathroom.
We are happy to provide DVDs and books for the use of our guests, including childrens’ books and useful wildlife reference books.

We are flexible on arrival and departure days, to help you with travel arrangements. If you do not stay a whole week, you will not be charged for one!
