2 Bedroom Gite in Nantiat

Spend time in the beautiful Limousin region of France. Spend a few days relaxing in our modest stone built gite while exploring the rolling wooded hills of the French Lake District. You could watch birds or wildlife or visit some of the many historic or interesting sites nearby. 
 
If you are driving through to Spain or the south of France we are conveniently situated for an overnight stop being just a few miles from the N147, the A20 and Limoges. 
 
We offer a comfortable and relaxing base if you are house hunting in this wonderful area. 
 
We bought the barn in 2003 and visited Villechenoux as often as we could for the next few years to work on the grey rendered gite and have a few days relaxing as well. 
We continued to work in the UK until October 2007 when we then moved to Villechenoux and lived in the gite while the barn was being converted into our dream home by a team of excellent builders and with a terrific architect.  
 
With the barn now finished we are thoroughly enjoying living in it and love welcoming guests to stay in the gite.

Spend some time relaxing in our modest, rustic stone built gite, two large bedrooms one with a double and the other with a small double and up to two singles. Modern bathroom with over bath shower. Large open plan ground floor with a basic modern kitchen equipped with everything you should need, lounge area with DVD player, cloakroom and wood burner if the evenings get chilly. Bar-b-que available for use. Table and chairs for alfresco eating and a selection of seating areas in the garden to sit and read or watch the birds at our feeding stations. We have a high chair and cot for use if required. Free wifi internet access is available in our barn next door for your use.

There are many great places to visit in the area. 
The local lake, Lac Pardoux is just seven miles away and offers beautiful scenery and safe bathing. 
It has three lovely sandy beaches with life guards on duty throughout the summer. You can choose to sunbathe and swim or hire pedalos, sailing boats or even water-ski! 
 
The tranquil Monts de Blond are stunning hills which are also only seven miles away and offer miles and miles of wonderful marked footpaths and cycle routes. 
 
The charming ancient town of Montmorrillon is situated on the banks of the Gartempe river. Specialising in all aspects of books this town has many bookshops in the restored medieval quarter. We suggest that you visit Montmorrillon on a Wednesday to take advantage of the weekly market and then soak up the atmosphere in one of the pavement cafes.

• Travel Info: The Limousin is in the heart of France. Our barn is in the department of the Haute Vienne which is one of the three departments which make up the Limousin. We are just 25 minutes north of Limoges near the village of Nantiat. We are about a seven hour drive from most of the ferry ports. Alternatively both Flybe and Ryanair fly regularly to Limoges airport from which we are a quick 20 minute drive away. Car hire is readily available at the airport with a choice of four different hire car companies. If you have satellite navigation then simply enter these co-ordinates and you will find us easily....
