Vacation Rental Description
A fully restored traditional "farm house" which has been renovated and completed to a very high standard. All the original features have been retained.The 30 foot lounge has exposed beams and a huge inglenook fireplace on which you could burn half a tree! The house is furnished with antiques and blends old and new with WIFI, Sky TV and a DVD player.Patio doors lead to a terrace which overlooks the large gardens,and private swimming pool.The English lady owner teaches flying at Limoges Airport, why not see France from the air? The village of Gorre is one kilometre away and here you will find a bakery/ local shop,bar/ restaurant and fishing lake.

La Porcerie is a small cottage adjacent to La Chataignerie which can be booked singly or in conjungtion with the larger house.

Nearby Flavignac has a swimming lake with a sandy beach, this is ten minutes drive from the property. Activities
At La Chataigneraie you will find peace and tranquillity as the property is surrounded with trees and set in private grounds of 5 hectares.
We have numerous animals and birds for the children to feed and pet, you will meet our 4 horses and one shetland pony which are available for guests use.
The English lady owner is a qualified Flying Instructor and teaches flying from the nearby Limoges International airport.
You could take lessons or perhaps just sample the outstanding views of the countryside by air.Excellent walks in the nearby forests where you may catch a glimpse of birds of prey, deer or wild boar. Bicycles are available for guests use.
The historic route of Richard the Lion Heart commences at Chalus, you will discover many beautiful chateaux on this route..
Oradour-Sur-Glane is about thirty minuts drive, this is a village untouched since 1944 when the germans killed the occupants and burned the village.

Please note that we require a 50% deposit upon confirmation of your booking, the balance to be paid six weeks prior to arrival. We have facilities for pay pal or you can make a bank tranfer to an English or French bank.See web site for options. We require a security deposit upon arrival of £150-00 to cover breakages and cleaning, this is refundable. A £30-00 heating supplement is charged weekly from october until May this is to cover the gas central heating and the logs for the fire.
