Parchimbaud is a sleepy, tranquil village. The scenery is beautiful with long winding roads and always a friendly smile and hello from the locals. No rush, just lay back and enjoy your stay in our pretty Walnut Cottage. You can laze in the garden, BBQ your favourite dish or visit one the many surrounding lakes. Why not soak up the sun on the manmade beaches or participate in the many available water sports. For the more active, you can borrow one of our bikes to take in the sites. There are many well marked and picturesque cycle routes. The surrounding lakes are well known for the quality of fishing, bring your rod and reel and you might catch your supper. You may wish to stay for a week or two, or maybe only for a night. The choice is yours and whatever you decide you will always find a warm welcome awaiting you.

The Cottage The cottage sleeps four, is fully self-catered and has a shower room with W.C. and hand basin. Wireless Internet is also supplied as is a microwave, two plate stove, fridge, dining table, two single beds, one double sofa bed, linen and towels, crockery, cutlery and glassware, kettle, toaster, iron, hairdryer and radio cassette CD player. We can also supply a travel cot if required. If you need anything else to make your stay more comfortable please ask. We are always here to assist in any way we can. =======================
The Local Area 'Limousin' the land of a thousand lakes.
Here are just some of the local places of interest. If you look on the Internet (we have some links on the useful link page), you can see just how beautiful these places are. Remember a flight from the UK can cost as little as Euro plus taxes.
Lac Chambon and Eguzon. Here you will find a man made beach where you can enjoy the many water sports, swim or just lay back and soak in the sun. There is also a restaurant and several bars to cater for your needs. A play area and water slide will keep not only the children amused. Lac Azerable Chaume is famous for its wonderful fishing. Here is also a swing park for the children and a restaurant. Argenton sur Creuse is a lively market town. You can walk along the riverside taking in the beautiful medieval houses, or maybe browse the market and shops. It has a large mainline train station and is easily accessible. Why not visit Argentomagus shop at the market. Limoges is a city famous for its porcelain. It has numerous museums and workshops devoted to the history of porcelain and the art of enamelling. Most of these factories and workshops offer guided tours. The city itself was founded in 16BC by the Roman Emperor Augustus and even today archaeologists continue to unearth Roman villas and artefacts. A victim of numerous wars through the years, Limoges has been destroyed and rebuilt a staggering five times. Crozant and the Sedelle are known as the valley of the painters. The area is a must for all to see. You can enjoy the stunning views of the gorge overlooked by the castle ruins. Or take a trip on one of the cruise boats, where you can sit back and enjoy the many wonderful sites. Georges Sand, the novelist, set many of her novels among this breathtaking scenery.
La Souterraine is an attractive medieval town with a XI/XII century church. This was used as a resting place for the pilgrims on the route of Saint Jaques de Compostelle. It is a lovely place to roam, and the variety of different shops and restaurants are always of interest. St Benoit Du Salt, another beautiful village.
Gargilesse is known as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village and scenery never cease to amaze, even after several return visits.
Fresslines is where the Grand and Petit Creuse rivers meet. Claude Monet lived and worked here, producing 23 paintings of assorted views of the Creuse. =================================
