Gîre RuralHow is the gîte situated as regard neighbourhood and traffic ? 
It is laid out in the house of a former farm surrounded with meadows. 
It is 500m from the village of Juillac. 
The small road near the farm is not busy as it only leads to a small village. 
Tenants have the use of a covered terrace looking onto an enclosed lawn. 
The yard on the front is also closed and children can play there safely. 
Water games for children in the former drinking troughs. 
 
What is the surface area of outer spaces ? 
From the main room there is a direct access to the covered terrace (50 m2*). 
Terrace is lined with an enclosed lawn (200 m2 *). 
At the front a closed yard (300 m2 *)and a garden with trees. 
Depending on season cars can be parked in the yard, or in a shaded car park. 
 
What facilities can be found in Juillac ? 
Baker's and confectioner's, butcher's and a small supermarket with a butcher. 
Bars and restaurant, post office, chemist's , doctors. 
Free access to library and use of the Internet. 
Nearest larger towns : Objat, Pompadour (10km), Brive (30km). 
 
What are the nearest railway stations ? 
Objat (10 km), Pompadour (10 km) on the line Limoges-Brive via Saint Yrieix-la-Perche. 
Brive la Gaillarde (30km) on the line Paris-Toulouse.

Summer swimming pool in Juillac. Thoroughly renovated in 2005. 
Within walking distance from the gîte and with a wonderful view. 
Canoë kayak on the river Vézère at the outdoor games base of Le Saillant (15 km). 
Horse and poney riding (2 riding schools nearby). 
Angling in brooks (trout, crayfish) or lakes. 
Footpaths for hiking and mountainbiking. 
 
Apart from summer what is the best season to visit the area ? 
Autumn is generally very nice. 
Temperatures are warm and days quite sunny even after November 1st. 
Forests with very nice autumn colours.

    • Fuel oil central heating. Electric convectors in bathrooms. No open fire for safety reasons, but a wood fuel stove in the fireplace. People can enjoy large enclosed green spaces. Children can play with water in former cow drinking troughs (the gîte used to be a dairy farm) in an enclosed playground. Parking is in a shaded area.
