THE FARMHOUSE
The farmhouse has a large kitchen/living room with exposed oak beamed ceiling and inglenook fireplace. Kitchen area fitted with oakfronted units, gas hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle and toaster,iron and ironing board, cooking utensils and cutlery. High chair and table to seat 6, tiled floor. The living area has oak flooring, two sofas and two armchairs, satelite TV and video unit. The two exterior doors lead off from this area at the same level to the front entrance drive with parking and the private rear garden leading to the swimming pool.

The downstairs bathroom has toilet, wash hand basin and large cubicle shower with shelf and pegs for your towel,wahsbag etc. The washing machine and dishwasher are housed in an utility room adjoining the bathroom.

There is one step up to the dining room to seat six, dark oak flooring and exposed oak beamed ceiling with dark oak furniture, consisting of dining table and chairs, cottage suite and dressers. We have an information stand where local events, tourist attractions and hire facilites can be found. There is also a chest containing family board games etc.

From the living area there is one step up to the downstairs double bedroom which overlooks a quiet, private area with pergola and grapevine.

The staircase, situated just beyond the downstairs bedroom leads to the bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor consisting of:-

One single bedroom, one twin bedroom and one double bedroom all with oak flooring and exposed beams.

One large bathroom with toilet, wash-hand basin and cubicle shower.

There is a travel cot and small foam mattress available for little ones who may prefer to sleep with parents.

OUTDOOR FACILITIES

The swimming pool, 10 x 5 metres(1M at the shallow end and sloping to 2m at the deep end)is fenced and has a security cover, with patio, lawn, gazebo and loungers are situated at the rear of the house and can be accessed via the private garden with garden furniture and bbq. The garden is planted with fruit trees, shrubs and flower borders. There is a pathway leading to the side of the house where there is another shady patio area covered be vine and surrounded by bushes.

Within the grounds there is a large park area with volleyball net,and can be lowered for badminton or tennis, outdoor table tennis and ample space to play football or explore. The grounds are private, sheltered and surrounded by unspoilt countryside creating a haven of tranquility. There is a perimeter fence surrounding the property.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

Segur le Chateau is a medieval town of outstanding beauty and historical interest. There are charming restaurants and a cafe which offer the facility of eating in or out on the green, under the plane trees on the edge of the river Auvezere. Lubersac, Arnac Pompadour and St Yrieix are market towns, on the route of Richard the Lionheart, all within 15 minutes drive, with market days, shops, supermarkets and intimate bars and restaurants.

Pompadour has its own magnificent chateau and immaculate racecourse and is the home of the Anglo Arab National Stud with many equestrian events throughout the year, includuing racing, showjumping, showing and three-day events as well as spectacular horse shows. Markets are held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday.

St Yrieix holds a large market on the 2nd and 4th Friday.It has an older part and holds many art exhibitions, has a modern theatre, a cinema and has an excellant variety of shops and restaurants. There is also a large lake set in beautiful parkland that has an imported beach , childrens play area and hires out kyacks for the lake.

Other places of interest nearby include Sarlat,Rocamadour, Collonges la Rouge, Roc St Christophe, Hautefort Chateau, the famous Lascoux caves and the Dordogne river valley.

On confirmation of your booking we require a deposit of 20% of the total cost of your holiday with the balance payable, + a security deposit of £50.00 (returnable to you upon the proviso that no damage has occurred to the property, the contents nor the swimming pool have been damaged) no later than eight weeks before your holiday is due to commence. In the event of a booking being accepted less than eight weeks before the holiday is due to commence we will require the payment in full at the earliest opportunity

If you wish we also offer towel hire at a charge of £2.50 per person per week. This fee can be paid when your balance is due. We will contact you to remind you approximately two weeks before that date.
