This is a luxury, 4* site, a short walk from a superb, sandy beach. There will be a new pool complex for 2009.

Our Acacias is a cottage-style mobile home which comfortably sleeps up to 6 people. It is the largest,best equipped and most luxurious unit on the site, on a large pitch with ample parking space. It has 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed and two further bedrooms each containing two single beds.There is a shower room with hand basin and a separate toilet. The dining area comfortably seats 6 people, and there is a table, 6 chairs and a parasol on the terrace for eating 'al fresco'. The fully equipped kitchen contains a fridge/freezer, gas hob, electric coffee machine, microwave and toaster. There is a security safe in the main bedroom. Our Acacias is 32 metres square and the decked terrace is 15 square metres with a barbecue.

LePreCatalan is a small, very clean and really friendly site owned and managed by Francois Galidie and his English born wife, Jenny, who is my sister-in-law, (so no language problems at Reception!). It is just a 10 minute walk from the long ,sandy beach at Barcares. The site has superb facilities including a shop, (with fresh bread every morning), a restaurant and takeaway with regular themed evenings, laundry, library with English books and internet access and a lively Bar with a full entertainment programme for all the family. In July and August there is a disco. A new and exciting pool complex is currently under construction with walkways, islands and other water features and this will be completed in April 2009.
A Champion and a Lidl Supermarket are a short walk away.
Barcares and the surrounding area boasts of approximately 300 days of sunshine each year!

There are some very cheap flights direct to Perpignan and the airport is only a 20 minute drive from the site. Ryanair fly direct from Birmingham, Manchester and London-Stansted. They also fly to Gerona (listed as Barcelona-Gerona), which is an hour from the site, from Blackpool, Luton , East Midlands and Liverpool.
Other destinations which are a short drive from LePreCatalan are Beziers, Carcassonne, Toulouse and Barcelona.
Many of our visitors drive down to the site having crossed the Channel with P&O Stena, SeaFrance, Britanny Ferries or having used Eurotunnel . The journey varies between 610 and 750 miles, depending on which port in France you have sailed in to.

As well as offering easy access to the beach, LePreCatalan is only a few kilometres from the saltwater lakes of Leucate and Salses, both renowned for their water sports facilities. For walking enthusiasts,the foothills of the Pyrenees are only a short distance away.

Perpignan, which is only 15 minutes drive away and is also easily reached by bus, offers great sight seeing and shopping and the Old Town is a great place to dine with plenty of reasonably priced restaurants. If you've never tried escargots this is the place to do it. Catalan style snails come covered in a rich garlic sauce! Salted smoked hams, richly stuffed sausages, salted or sugared flatbreads and a variety of nougats are other local delicacies.

The beautiful resort of Collioure, a painter's paradise,is only a short drive away as is the Spanish border.

The Championship golf course at St.Cyprien is only 30 minutes away. Other good courses are nearby.

A deposit of £20 secures your booking and the outstanding balance is then payable 30 days before your holiday.

An additional local tourist tax is payable. This is approximately 3.08 euros per week but is only payable by people of 13+ years of age .

A refundable deposit of 200 euros is required in case of breakages and damage to the property.

Our holiday home must be left as you find it or a cleaning fee will be deducted from your deposit.
