2 Bedroom House in Collioure

Our holiday house is situated in Collioure, southern France. Known as the gem of the Roussillon coast, this small ancient fishing village on the Mediterranean lies at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains. Situated in the heart of Catalan country, the local culture, folklore, tradition and food of Collioure reflect its proximity to Spain and its closeness to the sea .The four small bays and beaches of Collioure are flanked by a 13th century castle and a medieval church. This most charming and picturesque town full of tradition and history captivated the imagination of painters Matisse and Derain who stayed in Collioure in 1905.  
Although now a modern seaside resort the town has kept its charm and atmosphere. Collioure is the kind of place you fall in love with and want to come back to again and again to enjoy its uninterrupted sunshine (320 days a year), its unique charm and its breathtaking views.

Our House is upgraded on a yearly basis. It has had new pillows and linen, has recently been repainted throughout and has had satellite TV installed .Last season we added a new dishwasher and new washing machine We have balconies off the living area and off the master bedroom, both with beautiful sweeping views of the Mediteranean. The short walk into Collioure is along a seafront path for a lot of the route and provides a stunning view of the bay and castle.

Collioure retains its reputation as a destination for artists with many still living in the 'ateliers' in the heart of town and several galleries can be found in the town. There are cliff top walks for long stretches of the coastline, Mountain/hill walks within easy drive and many childrens activities can be found at Argeles sur Mer (the next vilage)
