1 Bedroom Apartment in Collioure

This is a studio apartment with separate kitchen and commodious bathroom. It is on the top floor of a smaal (3 floor) apartment block at the end of a cul-de-sac, so virtually no passing traffic or pedestrians. It is 400 metres to the beach/bread shop/ grocery aqnd reasonable walking distance to the train station. We spend most of our time on the balcony with a view of the windmill, the vineyards on the hills and the sea (just!)
There is a mezzanine bed which we prfer (it has a firm base which is good for the back) and a covertible sofa bed which most other people seem to prefer.
The kitchen is very well appointed, with refridegerator, cooker and equipment. The bathroom is very large, with a bath, shower, sink etc. plus a top loading washing machine.
Collioure itself 'the jewel of the Cote Vermeille' is one of the most popular and most beautiful villages in the whole of France. The artists Henri Matisse and Andre derain, as well as Picasso, made it famous last century.. Because it is a heritage site it is well preserved and has NO discos or night clubs. What it does have is a choice of five beaches, five wine shops and restaurants and artists' studios too numerous to count. The sea food is divine and the wine is rapidly catching up in quality. There are marine excursions into Spain and mountain walks for the adventurous. Ryanair runs regular services in to Perpignan where the TGV also stops.
