Vacation Rental Description

The house is a typical French town house on four floors.It is located in a small cul de sac of 4 properties just off a charming square with a fountain. The restaurants there bedeck parts of the square with tables and chairs and bright tablecloths.Off the front door there is an entrance hall with a utility room leading off. The utility room has a washing machine,double sink unit, ironing board,iron and storage space.The first floor consists of a large open plan fitted kitchen with gas cooker(with oven and 5 burners), microwave, fridge and belfast sink. It is fully equipped with crockery,cutlery,pots and pans,vacuum cleaner etc.There is an adjoining dining room which,in addition to a table and 6 chairs, has a desk and chair for anyone wishing to use a computer or write cards.There is also a bathroom on this floor with shower,w.c. and wash basin dining room.In both the kitchen and dining room there are floor to ceiling french windows with full wooden shutters.On the second floor there are two large bedrooms, one with double bed,bedside tables,dressing table and double wardrobe, and one with double bed and single bed and bedside tables and large wardrobe.Both bedrooms have wooden shuttered windows which look onto the cul de sac, some open space and the foothills to the Pyrenees.The house bathroom is also on this floor.On the third floor is a large sitting room/chill-out area with relaxing seating and Hi-Fi etc.Also on this floor approached by double sliding doors there is a terrace where you can sunbathe by day and eat and drink at any time as there is a table and chairs there.From the terrace see the Pyrenees around Ceret.From this floor there is a mezzanine floor,approached by a narrow wooden staircase, which has a single bed for unexpected guests or adventurous children! Bedding and towels are all provided.

There are casinos at Le Boulou (3 miles away) and at Amelie les Bains (5 miles away). Horse riding, bike riding and walking at all levels of difficulty and/or experience can be arranged. There are water sport activities for children at the swimming lake. There are all manner of water sports at the coast either in France or in Spain.Hunting for wild boar can also be arranged for suitable candidates. Bull fighting also takes place on certain days in the summer at the corrida in Ceret.There is a bull-run in the streets during the annual feria in July.

The house is situated in a thriving market town nestling in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It is steeped in history and is in the middle of the oldest area just off a square with a fountain, restaurants etc. Within 100 yards there are 10 restaurants,many bars,3 late clubs, 10 bread/cake shops,2 small supermarkets etc,etc. Picasso and other artists lived here- the Picasso museum in Ceret has many works by him and other artists. The town is a mecca for artists with many "ateliers". Ceret has various attractions- a swimming lake with equipment for kids (and a bar/restaurant!),floodlit tennis courts, municipal swimming pools etc. Ceret supports a renowned rugby team, with a grand stadium which boasts a covered stand! Every Saturday there is a tremendous market teeming with local products, both edible and otherwise!
Situated 5 miles from Spain you have access to the beautiful Catalan country and Mediterranean beaches in both countries.

House Rental Rates

Low Season Price : £295
High Season Price : £550 per Week


A deposit of 30% of the total price is required at the time of booking. The balance should be paid 6 weeks before the actual rental, unless the booking is made within 6 weeks in which case the full amount will be required.Payments can be made in sterling or in euros by cash or cheque. Deposits are not refundable unless an alternative rental can be organised in which case the deposit will be refunded less an administrative charge of 10%. Cheques should be made payable to "Derek Crossan". On payment of a deposit a receipt will be issued together with a confirmation of the booking.
