This 18th century traditional stone house is set in the heart of the historic market town of Uzès, only 300m from the famous “Place aux Herbes”. The house was fully renovated in 2007 and is situated in a quiet, pedestrian cobbled street which is part of the town’s beautiful historic quarter.
Immediate access to the most beautiful countryside for walking and cycling with the nearest vineyard only 200m away! Swimming in the local Gardon River, canoeing under the fabulous Pont du Gard and hiking in the Cevennes mountains are just a few of the favourite summer past times.

A beautifully renovated house in one of the prettiest streets in Uzes with original features including local stone and wooden beams. To have such a house with pool and garden in the centre of Uzès is what makes this house extra special.

The huge master bedroom has a beautiful Moroccan bathroom finished in Tadelakt (with a ridiculously big bath!) and overlooks the rear garden. The main living area is on the first floor with an open plan 60m lounge, dining area which opens through double doors onto the terrace and garden. Outside there is a summer kitchen and barbecue area for outdoor summer dining. In addition there is a further living room, small study are and double bedroom (with ensuite) on the ground floor. All the bedrooms are large including 2 childrens rooms with ample additional beds and sofa beds to cope with visitors.
The house has two huge flat screen TV's (with English channels), DVD players and surround sound system. The price includes use of bikes.
There is limited car access reserved for residents only and the house has its own garage. The house features a landscaped walled semi tropical garden with a small pool and fountain, ideal for cooling down in the summer months. The garden and pool can be flood lit at night and there is an automatic watering system.
About the location
Uzès is a vibrant and historic town full of excellent restaurants, boulangeries, antique shops and small boutiques. The twice weekly market held in the Place aux Herbes (Wednesday and Saturday) attracts visitors from far and wide as does the Sunday antiques fair.
The house has all the advantages of being in a small cultural town but also has right on its door the most beautiful countryside. For those who love walking and cycling you can go far and wide from our doorstep without needing a car. This includes visiting the nearest vineyard only 200m away!! Swimming in the local Gardon River, canoeing under the fabulous Pont du Gard (3 stars in the Michlin giude), and hiking along the local trails are just a few of the favourite summer past times.
And for those who like visiting the sights, the historic and cultural cities of Avignon, Arles, Montpellier, Aix en Provence, Marseilles, Beziers and Orange are all within easy access. Don't miss the fabulous amphi-theatre "Les Arenes" in Nimes, the "Pont d'Avignon" and the Duché Castle in Uzes where the Duke is still resident.
For beach lovers, the beautiful coastline is just over an hours drive away and you can drive through the Camargue to get there or visit the walled town of Aigue-Mortes on the way. Also enjoy the stunning surrounding countryside including, the Ardeche gorges and the Cevennes Mountains.

Uzes is surrounded by almost every type of outdoor activity from mountain biking to wine tasting. The nearest beach is over an hours drive but there is plenty of swimming in the local rivers. Also decending the Ardeche gorges is a favorite activity or visiting some of the famous caves (grottes) such as Aven Orgnac.
