The house is only 3 kilometers from Peyriac-de-Mer so it is possible to walk or cycle to town and get to the small beach, just out of town. It is within minutes drive of the salt water lagoons where live flocks of pink flamingoes, or of the other beaches around Narbonne. The house has been beautifully restored retaining many of the original features like beams, a winding 'provencal' staircase, and an 'old style' ceiling in the living room. The owners are adding an independent 'studio' with a separate entrance looking out on to the pool.

The pool has a covered summer kitchen with a bar, nice garden furniture, a large built-in BBQ, a pergola, and a tiled terrace around the pool.

This house of 240 m2 has 3 bedrooms in the main house and and studio and sleeps 8 people in comfort with 4 bedrooms, 4 en suite shower rooms(3 with wc + 1 independant wc), and can sleep up to 10 with a pull out sofa bed in exceptional circumstances.

Outside:
The house is set on a hill with sweeping views toward the sea and the salt water lagoons around Narbonne, in Garden 18000 meters of private land (appx 2 hectares) with an attractive garden of olive trees, pines, some palms and some native verieteis of trees and bushes. (Young children would need supervision because of the sloping terracing beyond the garden).

The 10x5 m swimming pool (1.40m shallow end and 1.70m deep end with roman steps)(alarmed), in front of the house has wonderful views across the countryside. The pool terrace is tiled and beyong it there is a flat lawned area.

Peyriac-de-Mer appx 3 kms away is a picturesque village with a cafe-bar, a grocer, a baker, a pharmacy and a small BEACH.

Bages appx 5 kms - Lovely fishing village on the shores of the Narbonne 'etang'. Several very good seafood restaurants. Great windsurfing on the etang in early spring and late autumn (some speed records have been set here). Bages is set on top of a hill and has commanding views over the seawhere there is a route winding through salt-water lagoons and flocks of pink flamingoes - magnificent!

Abbey de Fontfroide 15 km built by the powerful Bishops of Narbonne with beautifully restored 11th century cloister.

Narbonne appx 12 km. Founded 600 BC by the Romans. Boasts flamboyant cathedral and Episcopal Palace. Excellent restaurants. One of the most splendid markets, and a 'Les Halles' covered market everyday, including sunday morning. Great choice of good restaurants and trendy shops and boutiques.

Port la Nouvelle appx 30 km. Superb sandy beaches.

Carcassonne appx 66 km Largest fortified medieval town in Europe.

Beziers appx 44 km. Major market town, noted for its bull-fight 'Feria' in August.
