The Wee House is situated in the historic centre of the village of Marcorignan, 8 kms from the Roman town of Narbonne. The house has been renovated and traditional features restored. The house comprises three floors of 16 m2 each. and is ideally suited for one or two people. On the ground floor is the living room with a double bed settee, on the first floor is a double bedroom with French doors leading onto a small balcony, and a shower room/wc. Upstairs you will find the bright kitchen and the roof terrace, with a unique outlook over the village roofs to the Minervois hills and splendid sunsets. The house is fully equipped and all household linen is provided. The two stairs make the house unsuitable for young children or people with mobility problems. Marcorignan village has several shops and 5 miles away is Narbonne, with train connections to the nearest cities of Montpellier, Carcassonne and Perpignan. Direct trains go to Barcelona - the Spanish border is only an hour away by car - and Toulouse. Marcorignan is an excellent starting point from which to discover the authentic south of France with its cultural heritage : abbeys,(including Fontfroide and Lagrasse) Cathar castles and the Canal du Midi (4 km away). Then there are the local wine and regional food specialities - not to be missed. In less than 30 minutes you can wander in the Minervois and Corbière hills or swim in the Mediterranean Sea - on the finest sand beaches of the French coastline.
