In the heart of Cathar country the area provides a huge choice of activities.
Its history is staggering with castles, abbeys & ruins all over the region - some steeped in mystery & legend. Rennes Le Chateau, for example, where the Holy Grail is supposedly buried or, Termes where the last Cathar was burned at the stake. Visit the famous and beautiful sites of Carcassonne or Peyrepertruse & Querebus; the beautifully clean Mediterranean beaches, or feast on the delights of local food & wine direct from the producer at the local wine domaines or nearby markets or take a day trip on the Canal Du Midi floating under the canopy of plane trees. This region offers more sunshine than any other part of France. The Aude is perhaps the undiscovered Provence, even in the height of the summer season the roads are still quiet & it is always easy to find your own spot on one of the stunning white sandy beaches.

Local attractions are numerous & varied. In the summer months the whole area is alive with fetes & other village activities. Lagrasse is wonderfully located for day trips to other parts of the region. Toulouse, Montpelier, Collioure, even Barcelona are easy to explore. A perfect place to spend time amongst the Rosemary & Thyme scented garrigue hills, walking or cycling (we have bikes you can borrow), surfing, canooing, horse riding or simply relaxing on the terrace overlooking the river.
Alternatively stay & relax in Lagrasse itself, swimming in the Orbieu river or sitting with a cold glass of rose on the Promenade watching the world pass by...
