Ideal for couples, in an excellent location situated on the ground floor of a traditional village house in the centre of Lagrasse. 
Own small courtyard garden leads directly from kitchen/living room with table and chairs and portable barbecue for alfresco dining. 
Lagrasse is officially one of the mot beautiful villages in France. The house is in the mediaeval part of the village, close to the 13th century church and the abbey, dating back to the 8th century. Within 2 minutes' walk of supervised river swimming. The main promenade, shaded by plane trees offers ample opportunities for dining in a restaurant, tasting the local Corbieres wines or just sitting in a cafe to watch the world go by. When you feel like being more active there are walking trails in the garrigue above the town and Cathar castles to visit. Or take a trip to the mediaeval city of Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage site; here during the Summer season there is high quality open air music ranging from opera and classical to jazz, rock and chanson. There is also ballet, theatre and cinema. On Bastille day, 14th July, there is a spectacular firework display, reputedly the best in France.

    • Stunning region, unspoilt countryside steeped in Cathar history with an abundance of castles and historic sites to discover and explore. 
    Deep[ in the Corbieres wine region with infinite opportunities for wine tasting. 
    Officially one of the most beautiful villages in France, Lagrasse is a small townlinked to a Benedictine abbey by 2 graceful bridges spanning the river Orbieu. In the centre of the town the cobbled market square hosts craft fares and produce markets during the summer as well as music festivals. There are many artists studios selling paintings and hand crafted pottery. 
    There are walking trails in the garrigue above the town, opportunities for bird watching and a lovely safe swimming and picnic spot on the river just below the abbey.  
    The nearest Mediterranean beaches are less than an hours drive away. 
    You can take a trip to the fabulous mediaeval city of Carcassonne about 40 minute drive away or visit other historic cities.

Cancellation policy - full refund given only where property is subsequently booked by other clients. Rental fee includes bedlinen and towels but not towels for swimmimg.
