Situated within the walls of the village our house offers visitors a relaxed, peaceful & historic holiday experience. During loving renovation, the house unveiled many historic secrets associated with the Cathars. With 15 authentic stone arches scattered throughout the property and various 12th century paintings you are sure to feel you have taken a step back in time! However, with all mod cons and a comfortable feel to the living accommodation in the self catering gite, it is history at its best!
With arguably the most spectacular facade in the village, Neuf Rue de Cancans really is a gem nestled within the cobbled streets of a village voted 'One of Frances Prettiest'. One of the few houses within in the village walls to have a garden - a little piece of paradise can be found out here too. With its lawn & 2 BBQ terraces al fresco dining is a must. Imagine the sun bouncing off the medieval walls & the breeze blowing through the cherry trees - you are sure to find leaving difficult!

Nestled within the medeival walled garden is our beautiful swimming pool for guests to use only. The pool are is surrounded by a raised deck ideal for those relaxing days soaking up the famous South of france sunshine!
Lagrasse is a great base for exploring local history and architecture - with Narbonne’s fine medieval buildings and Roman beginnings, the great medieval walled Cité of Carcassonne, Cistercian Abbeys, Cathar Castles from the Albigensian crusades of the early 13th century on hilltops everywhere, fortified cathedrals at Beziers and Capestang and the exciting cosmopolitan southern cities of Toulouse, Montpellier, Perpignan and Albi - all these are within easy reach.

Live bands play in the 8th century Abbey, classical concerts in the church & a world famous music festival during July, all lively & fun, a typically French atmosphere is guaranteed!
With village facilities including tennis courts, football & boules pitches only 2 minutes walk away & sailing & windsurfing a 30 minute drive away. For those wanting a truly relaxing French village experience there is the pretty beach on the Orbieu river which is only a stones throw away through the cobbled streets. Superb fishing is also found on this river & with the Canal de Midi close by, tranquil boat trips are a must.
