Vacation Rental Description
Maison Elise is a traditionally styled Villa built in 2007 and is part of a small developement of 15 architect designed properties. Built on the site of a former vineyard, just outside the charming village of Villemoustaussou, it enjoys views of the Pyrenees to the South and is set in 1,500 meters (0.37 acres) of fenced and gated garden, making it a safe location for children. The private HEATED pool (8m x 4m), complete with safety cover, has a large terrace, which also houses the built in barbecue. There is a covered area (Logia) attached to the Villa, which is provided with furniture, making it ideal for alfresco dining. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, with their own shower room and seperate toilet, and 2 on the ground floor, which have a bathroom comprising a bath and seperate shower, as well as a seperate toilet. This layout makes it perfect for 2 families sharing. The master bedroom is 20 sq.m. and has French doors, which open out directly onto the pool terrace. All bedrooms enjoy the facility of built in wardrobes. The property has gas central heating and an open fire, making it a cosy location for a winter break. Being just a 10 minute drive from Carcassonne airport makes the Villa very easy to get to, and also makes it an ideal location from which to explore the famous medieval City of Carcassonne, La Cite, you can even see it lit up at nights, from the upstairs bedrooms!
Facilities
Poolside furniture is provided and there are dining facilities for 8 people, both indoors and on the Logia outside. There is also a built in barbecue on the pool terrace. The sitting area has 2 sofas and a chair. A selection of CD's, DVD's, books and games is provided. There is an iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, coffee maker, toaster etc. Both showers have thermostatic valves and seperate shower enclosures. There are 2 double beds and 4 singles. The bed in the ground floor master bedroom is 2m x 1.8m, the other one, in the first floor bedroom, is 2m x 1.6m. All the single beds (2 ground floor, 2 first floor) are 1.9m x 0.9m. All bed linen and towels are provided, and are changed once a week. There are large patio doors, leading out onto the Logia and pool terrace, from both the dining and sitting areas, both of which have electrically operated shutters. There ate also shutters on all the badroom windows and a burglar alarm.
Activities
There is so much to do that you will never manage it all in one visit! Within 15 minutes drive of the Villa you have the famous medieval city La Cite, the 4 castles of Lastours, the spectacular caves at Limosan and Lac de la Cavayere with it's beaches, mini golf, volleyball, watersports, and O2 adventure park, which is a must for the kids, and adults, come to that!
The Canal du Midi is literally a bike ride away,(we do provide 2) and there are also the vineyards to visit of course! Carcassonne has many good shops and there is a shopping complex and cinema a short drive from the Villa.
A bit further affield you have the Pyrenees, ideal for skiing in the winter, or walking in the summer, the tax free shopping at Andora or the beaches of the Mediteranean. There are many lovelly old towns and villages, Miropoix, Revel, Saissac and Montreal are all worht a visit.
In July the Carcassonne Festival has everything from opera to rock groups.

A 25% deposit is required at time of booking, with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to the hire period. Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer. In the event of cancellation the deposit, less any charges, will only be refunded if the property can be re let for the periopd of the original booking. Towels, Bed linen, cleaning and heating of the pool (May to Sept only) are included in the price. Our French agent will require a refundable damage deposit. Hire period is usually from 4pm Sat to 10am the following Sat.

We invite you to share our little piece of paradise in one of the most beautiful parts of France!
Alice and I spent several years visiting various areas of France before we settled on this little hamlet, just outside Carcassonne. To our minds it offers all that is so appealing about France: great weather, fine wines, (some of the best of which are produced within sight of the Villa)wonderful food and breath taking scenery.
Whatever your interests, there will be something for you. The Canal du Midi makes an excellent location for walking or taking a leisurely bike ride to one of the many superb restaurants that nestle by the side of it. There are many famous historical sites locally, none more so than La Cite itself, which is just a short drive, or even bike ride, from the Villa.
You can't get much more varied than a paddle in the Mediterranean or Skiing in the Pyrenees, but both are within a short drive of our location, or if you fancy something even closer to home, there if Lac de la Cavayare, with it's beaches and many activities, a few minutes away.
The only downside we have found, it that once you have experienced what this region has to offer, you just don't want to leave!
