Whether you are a family, friends or a couple wanting to take time out or in need of adventure, our maison is perfect for exploring this beautiful part of the world. With easy access to all amenities, historical Carcassonne, wineries, beautiful walking country, skiing, fantastic roads for motorbike riding, golf courses, swimming lakes and beaches, there is something for everyone. With a beautiful courtyard, large rooms, wood floors and exposed beams throughout, and its original staircase, the house has been sympathetically decorated with the all the comforts of a modern home. And with space for entertaining, why not stay in and cook a delicious meal using local fresh ingredients from one of the many markets, accompanied with a sumptuous bottle of wine from a nearby winery.
The area is served by many airports and most of them are within an hour and a half's drive from the maison. The closest one is Carcassonne airport, which is only 15 minutes away and Ryanair fly here from several airports in the UK and Europe. Other airports are: Toulouse (1hour, 10min), Perpignan (1hour, 20min), Bezier (1hour, 10min), Montepellier (1 hour, 40min), Barcelona/Girona airport (2hours, 10min).
There are also great rail connections with the rest of Europe, with the nearest station being Carcassonne and only 10 minutes from la maison d'anneli.
The maison has everything you need for a comfortable stay - ADSL WiFi, Satellite TV (flat screen), CD player with iPod docking station, board games, DVDs, books; Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle, high-chair, children's cutlery and place settings. Separate laundry with washing machine, iron and ironing board; Gas stoves and central heating to keep you warm and cosy; Freestanding fans and ceiling fan to keep you cool; Bathrooms with showers and large baths, hairdryer and make-up mirrors; Cot and changing table; Private courtyard with gas barbeque and wooden garden furniture. Bed linen and towels are provided.
The maison sleeps six + one child in a cot. On the ground floor you will find an open plan kitchen and lounge room, a separate laundry and WC. The room on the first floor has a king size bed and an adjacent small room with cot and changing table (can also be used as a luggage room). The room on the second floor has two single beds (which can be put together to make one king size) + a bed sofa that sleeps two. Both rooms have on-suites. It is a non-smoking house (smoking is only allowed outside in the courtyard).
Local area
There is a bank, post office, food store (with cheese and meat counter), newsagent, bakery, public swimming pool and a great restaurant all within walking distance. A large supermarket is only five minutes' drive and the village gets once a week visits from the dairy farmer, butcher and fish monger
Parking and transport
We recommend that you have your own transport. You can drive your car straight up to the front door to unload and then there is ample street parking around the maison. Alternatively you can park at the main village carpark.
On arrival
We provide you with a few things to get you started; tea, coffee, sugar, black pepper, salt, UHT milk, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dish washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, garbage bags and a bottle of local wine upon arrival. There are also handwash and bubble bath in the bathrooms.

Activities
It is a wonderful area with lots to do and we are surrounded by vineyards, great walks, beautiful villages and the maison is only 10 minutes from central Carcassonne and 5 minutes from Canal du Midi. There are also lovely spots nearby for swimming and canoeing, interesting historical sites, and good restaurants. There are a cooler bag, picnic rug and plastic plates etc in the house, so you can get provisions from one of the many local markets and have picnics at one of the rivers and lakes nearby or why not take a drive to the seaside (around 40 minutes away). With only 2 hours drive to Spain and 3 hours drive to Andorra, you can visit 3 countries in one holiday. We are an hour's drive from the ski slops and Carcassonne golf course is only 20 minutes away.

The balance is due three weeks (21 days) prior to arrival. Refundable security deposit: £90. Cancellation up to 21 days prior to arrival: the deposit is retained. Cancellation 20 to 8 days prior to arrival: 50% of the booking retained. Cancellation 7 to 2 days prior to arrival: 70% of the booking retained. Cancellation the day prior to arrival or no show: 100% of the booking. Full T&C provided when booking.
