Vacation Rental Description
Les Carries offers spacious, well-appointed holiday accommodations in the Languedoc countryside. From your front door enjoy walking and bicycling on a canal path with no automobile traffic. Five minutes' drive (or ten by bicycle) away are butcher, baker, fine dining, and the U.N. World Heritage site Canal du Midi. There are no neighbors or nearby roads, yet we are a mere 40 minutes from the airports and train stations in Carcassonne and Toulouse. 
 
Peaceful. Les Carries is a 400 year-old farmhouse on 2-1/2 acres of gardens. It is situated in serene countryside tucked in a bend on a small canal. The views, across gently rolling wheat and sunflower fields, are of the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noir.  
 
Private. The gite has a private entrance, well separated from the owners' accomodations at the other end of the farmhouse. There are no close neighbors, and no nearby roads. A 10 metre swimming pool lies hidden among hedges that screen it completely, with generous patio and lawn space, deck chairs and umbrellas.  
 
Comfortable. The interior is beautifully renovated and fully furnished. The ground floor has a sitting area with a view of the garden, a dining area and a sunny, spacious, well-equipped modern kitchen. Upstairs are two large bedrooms (queen and twin), and a bath with a marble-tiled walk-in shower and double wash basins.

    • Walking, running and bicycling can be enjoyed from your front door. Sailing, windsurfing and paddle boats are available on nearby lakes. Local sites include the Seuil de Naurouze on the Canal du Midi, and an archeological site with crypts and remains of a bath house dating to Roman times.
