Set in over 1000sq meters of garden belonging to a small single storey villa. the stone barn has been sympathetically converted into two charming, beautifully furnished, well equipped studios, each with their own Stereo,TV video and DVD and private terrace. The studios are very well sound proofed and have ceiling fans. Double or twin beds are available. The entire garden is fenced with plenty of room for sunbathing and there is a large traditional barbecue on the main terrace, shaded by kiwi vines.
Stepping onto the bank of the Canal you could enjoy a meal at the quiet, family-run auberge next-door, renowned for its cuisine, or walk into the port of Homps with its cafes, restaurants and food shops.
The owner is at hand for help & advise and there a library of books over 300 and 150 DVDs available for use

The area is prefect for chilling out. Positioned in the med valley bettween Carcassone and Monypellier it is surrounded by mountain and is excellent walking, bird watching, and cycling both in the mountains or along the canal.For people who like to fish the back gate of the garden opens on to the Canal du Midi were there is excellent fishing and there are 2 more lake withing walking distance.
The area is steeped in history, with the remains of prehistoric civilization all around. Some of the earliest human remains have been found at Tourtavel to the south (excellent museum). Narbonne has a superb collection of Roman mosaics in the museum set in the ancient palace. There is a good direct road to the famous fortified town of Carcassone and the great Cathar fortresses of Queribus, Montsegur and Peyrepertuse, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, should not be missed. Closer to hand the beautiful Cathar city of Minerve is a 12min drive
