Vacation Rental Description
This two-story townhouse perches on the edge of the village of Trôo between the troglodyte hillside and the river. It faces a café across the street. One-half block away is a parking lot next to the bridge over the Loir River. Crossing the bridge you find a park with a playground in the town of St. Jacques des Guerets and pastureland beyond. 
 
Upstairs has two bedrooms (one with a spacious closet) with double beds and a bathroom. Downstairs consists of a large kitchen/eating area and a sitting room with sofa bed, easy chair, dining table and chairs. Downstairs rooms feature the original floor tiles and restored tufa stone walls. There is a lovely stained glass window in the transom over the heavy oak front door with its intricate wrought-iron grillwork. 
 
The central location of Trôo makes an ideal base for day trips to other popular tourist sites such as Chartres, Mont Saint Michel, and the royal chateaux of the Loire Valley. We have driven to Paris in 2-1/2 hours, Tours in 1/2 hour, Amboise in 45 minutes, Blois in 45 minutes and Chartres in 1-1/2 hours.

    • This comfortable self-catering gite is equipped with linens, dishes, and cooking utensils, all included in the price. Kitchen equipment includes gas cooker, washing machine/dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, and countertop oven with rotisserie. The bathroom has an electric towel warmer/radiator, a shower/tub, toilet, bidet, and sink. The fireplace in the living room is equipped with an “insert” which efficiently directs the heat into the room. Every room has an electric radiator.

    • Relax by walking along the river, exploring the troglodyte village and fortress ruins of Trôo,or fishing from the edge of our garden. Stop at the Cafe Litteraire to have an espresso, browse through original editions, and connect to the internet. Troo has a tennis court by Le Mairie. This is a great area for hiking, bicycling, and rambling. Montoire has bicycles, kayaks and canoes for rent as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools.  
     
    The world-class music festival in Montoire takes place in August--check with the tourist

    1 week minimum stay. 200 Euros deposit to book reservation becomes security deposit against damage or loss and will be reimbursed within 15 days of departure. The deposit does not apply to the balance which is due one month before the arrival date. Cancellation fee: 50 Euros Linens included. No other costs.
