A beautiful traditional solgnette cottage in the centre of a small village in the heart of the Sologne.
Vacation Rental Description
A traditional three bedroomed Solognot cottage. Situated in the Sologne, in the quiet village of Gy En Sologne, surrounded by woodlands, rivers, ponds and farmland. Boulangerie/Shop and Restaurant/Bar close by, supermarkets within a short drive. Between the Rivers Cher and the Loire, within easy reach of all the beautiful chateaux of the Loire and Cher Valleys. Private courtyard and terrace. Original beams throughout. Log burning fire. Well furnished and equipped. A private wood and field, borded by the local river with wintertime pond are available for picnics, nature walks and exploration. Watch out for the frogs and the lizards!
The front door of the cottage leads into the beautifully beamed, open plan living area with ceramic tiled floor. One bedroom and a shower room and separate toilet are also on the ground floor. An oak staircase leads up to the first floor where two further spacious bedrooms and a separate tolielt/sink are located.
French doors open from the living area onto the courtyard and generous terrace with outdoor table, seating and an electrically operated sun canopy. Two traditional barns enclose the courtyard, with car parking; accessible through a gated coaching passage from the street. One of the barns houses the 'cave' and an indoor table tennis table.
Facilities
Living Area: Well equipped kitchen with dish washer, fridge/freezer and microwave oven, Dining area - Traditional French furniture, Comfortable seating area - Log burning fire, double sofa bed, two arm chairs, TV/DVD player, CD/radio, range of books, maps, information leaflets and games. Ground floor: Bedroom - Double bed, single bed with single pull out Shower room - Washing machine/tumble dryer Toilet Cupboards - Vaccum/cleaning tools/Iron/ironing board. First Floor: Separate toilet/sink. Master Bedroom: Spacious, recently converted with orignal roof beams and 'chien assis' features. Velux roof windows, excellent village views. Kingsized bed. Bedroom Three: Original beams, two adult sized single beds. Sliding door cupboards with range of toys and games. Duvets and pillows and bedding provided for all beds and sofa bed.
Activities
Between the Rivers Cher and the Loire, within easy reach of the beautiful chateaux of the Loire Valley including: Amboise; Blois; Chambord; Chenonceau; Cheverney. Beau val Zoo, Museums: Sologne, Matra and 'La Straize' - All within 50 mins.
Super 'high street' shopping - Blois (30 mins), Tours (50 mins).
Woodland, river and canal side walking, boating activities (canoeing, boat trips), shooting, cycling, fishing, golf, ice skating and swimming (indoor and outdoor) all within 30 mins.
Regional specialities include: Goat's cheese (Selles Sur Cher and Billy) and fois gras. Seasonal fruit and vegetables available from local growers all year round. Many excellent local wine producers.
There are several museums in the area:
La Straize - An original locature - farm workers dwelling in Gy en Sologne itself, Matra - a car museum in Romorantin.

Reduction for 'two adults only' bookings - please ask. Arrangements for change over, collection and return of the house keys to be made on an individual basis. Saturday to Saturday bookings. Bed linen and towels are included in the price. No maid service available. The cottage will be clean when you arrive, please make sure it is clean when you leave. A non-returnable £100 deposit required within 10 days of your booking to secure the dates you have requested. Additional £100 Key and breakage deposit required on final payment(Returnable subject to key return and breakages). Full balance of the rental and breakage deposit no later than six weeks before holiday. Cancellation terms apply within five weeks of holiday start. Payment accepted by: PayPal Direct Bank transfers -Account details will be provided on request. Cheques and international bank cheques.
