Vacation Rental Description
The apartment is on the first floor of a country villa with its own balcony overlooking two acres of garden bordering the Claise river. It is an ideal spot for relaxing by the pool, fishing or enjoying the local bird life in the 'Parc Naturel Regional de la Brenne'. Visitors have their own private entrance, staircase and patio area. There are four adult bicycles available for use and table tennis and other garden sports equipment available. The area is perfect for varied sight seeing with the Loire an hour's drive north, and our local chateau and wildlife park only 6 kms away. This is a little known area with great charm, bisected by wide sedate rivers and peppered with white stone villages and mediaeval market towns. Utterly addicting!
Martizay is a pretty riverside village at the junctions of the historical regions of Touraine, Berry and Poitou in central France. There are two bakers, a general store, post office, restaurant, newsagent and bars all within easy walking distance. There is a small local market each Wednesday. The local villages are unspoiled, stunning Angles sur l'Anglin, "un des plus beaux villages de France" is only two villages away to the south and a must to visit.
Martizay is set in the regional park of the Brenne, a protected wetland of over 2000 lakes with wildlife walks. Gently rolling countryside makes it ideal for cycling and the quiet country roads are ideal for touring.A first rate tennis court is two minutes bike ride away and the owners can book for you.

The apartment is light and airy with its own balcony for al fresco dining. Visitors have free access to the gardens and riverside. There is plenty of space for outdoor games providing a safe and private area for children to play and for adults to relax! Thre is sports equipment and four adult bikes available free of charge. A barbecue is also available.

The Brenne is an area of over 2000 small lakes and is a wonderful wild-life area, ideal for hikers, bikers and bird watchers. Equally there are local lakeside and riverside beaches that take you back to the freedom of a bygone childhood. the local wild-life park is a great day out on foot or bicycle and the Loire valley is less than an hours drive away. There is so much to see and do you will have to keep coming back to the area!
