Vacation Rental Description
Le Moulinot is an 18th Century stone Burgundy watermill, which was renovated to offer comfortable accommodation for up to 12 guests in six ensuite bedrooms. The three-storey stone building has lots of character, with exposed wooden ceiling beams, hardwood floors, and antique furniture and tiles. Le Moulinot is set in seven acres (three hectares) of private grounds, bordered by its own lake-like millpond and the River Cure. The solar heated swimming pool is sunk into the ground, adjacent to and level with the millpond. Next to the pool, tables and chairs, a parasol and a barbecue provide an ideal spot for dining outdoors. The house is surrounded by terraced areas, with plenty of space to relax in sun or shade.
The house is maintained to a high standard with a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. On the ground floor, the living room overlooks the millpond. Sofas and armchairs surround the fireplace, and there is a satellite TV, WiFi access, stereo, and DVD player for relaxing. An antique Jacobean dining table seats twelve guests comfortably. The large kitchen has an electric oven, gas burners, and a dishwasher, and has all the equipment and features needed to explore Burgundian cuisine. Also on the ground floor is a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer, and an additional wc.
On the middle floor, the master bedroom has a king size double bed, a sitting area, and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub. A suite has a double bed, an adjoining room with a sitting area, and an ensuite shower room. On the top floor there are four smaller bedrooms: two rooms, each with a double bed and a shower room, one room with a double bed and a bathroom, and one room with two twin beds and a shower room.
Upon request, we can provide you with bilingual assistance on site, a maid, cook, guide or driver and even an English speaking babysitter who lives in the village.
The owner's house and another smaller cottage (4 people) are also on the property, and the 10m x 8m solar heated swimming pool is shared by all. Due to the surrounding water, the owners do not encourage children who are not strong swimmers.

The region is sprinkled with cultural and historical treasures: Arcy and its famous caves that contain the second oldest prehistoric drawings found in mainland Europe; the bustling cathedral town of Auxerre; Noyers with its elegant half-timbered houses; Vézelay, a World Heritage Site where emperors, kings, popes, pilgrims and crusaders gathered; and the Morvan National Park. At the site of Guédelon, a fortified castle is being built using the techniques of the 13th century. The ancient town of Beaune and the abbeys of Fontenay and Pontigny are within easy driving distance. For a bird's eye view, hot air balloon flights can be arranged leaving from the millhouse garden.
The nearby slopes of Chablis, Irancy and Saint Bris have been the site of vineyards since Roman times. Wine tasting opportunities are plentiful.
