Recently renovated and redecorated throughout, this beautifull south facing cottage offers a country farmhouse feel with modern comforts. Standing alone on the edge of a sleepy country hamlet, the secluded gardens offer a splendid view down the wooded valley whatever the season. Luxuriantly green under spring or summer sun, spectacular red and gold in autumn or dazzling white when covered in winter snow. Walking and cycling start at the front gate, with country lanes and forest trails to be explored. Numerous lakes and rivers within easy reach make the area an angler's paradise. A little further afield is wine tasting, sightseeing and for the more energetic, adventure activities. At 1 hour 15 mins by TGV even Euro Disney is a possible day out.
Interior Facilities
Entrance via front garden through a sunny south facing conservatory into fully equipped kitchen/ diner. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, a woodburning stove with oven, a microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee maker. The dining table seats six. Off the kitchen is a utility room containing a dishwasher, a small freezer and a double sink. There is an adjoining bathroom with large walk-in shower, washbasin and W.C. From the kitchen, a stone archway leads though to the lounge which has a large wood burning stove. The kitchen and lounge have exposed stone walls. The lounge has armchairs and sofas giving comfortable seating for six and is equipped with satellite television (20 channels), video tape & DVD player and a Hi-Fi system. A collection of video tapes, DVDs and CDs are provided. French doors lead out to a spacious patio and front garden. From the lounge, a short flight of stairs leads up to the landing and 2 double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a bathroom. This second bathroom has a bath with shower, a washbasin and W.C. All rooms have electric radiators, bathrooms have heated towel rails. If required, single beds may be substituted for doubles. Cot, baby bath and high chair are also provided. Exterior Facilities
The front patio has a large 8 place dining table which is in dappled shade under the midday sun. A short flight of stone steps lead up to the front lawn with a stone well. On the end of the cottage is a summer kitchen which has through access to the rear patio and garden. The summer kitchen contains a washing machine, fridge and a sink. A large portable barbeque is provided which allows the choice of eating out at the front or the rear of the house. Sun loungers and garden furniture are provided. There is a slide for small children. Off-road parking to the side and rear of the cottage. Fields to the rear of the cottage give an additional play area for the kids or additional parking if needed.
The cottage is designed as a home, being practical whatever the season so do not rule out a winter break.

All bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own towels for use outside.
Household cleaning materials are provided as are basic culinary products
A breakfast starter pack (cereals, bread, milk etc) can be provided at cost for those who require it.
We can also offer a "meals on wheels" service for when you want to eat in without the effort of having to shop or cook
Owners live 500 metres from the property and therefore on hand should you need any help or advice.
For those travelling by train, we can arrange collection from the station and/ or car hire.

Nearest restaurant is a 2 minute drive from the cottage.
Marmagne (4 mins) has 2 resturants, 2 bars, a tabac, butcher, baker, small general store, chemist, post office, & tennis court. Also wine merchant where you can taste before buying.
Autun (15 mins) supermarkets, restaurants, swimming pool (lido in summer), boating lake, bowling & golf. Being an ancient Roman stronghold it has remarkably well preserved ramparts, amphitheatre & cathedral. Friday morning market well worth a visit.
Le Creusot (12 mins) shops, golf, swimming pool & lido, bowling & Chateau. Parc des Coombes for karting, amusement park and narrow gauge train.
The Morvan National Park (20 mins) offers a large selection of things to do and see. Archeological digs of ancient Gaul settlements, Celtic pathways, forest paths, mountain springs, waterfalls and lakes. Tourists are catered for with centres for hiking, pony trekking, fishing & a whole host of water sports.
