Vacation Rental Description
The Gîte is situated in the picturesque ancient village of Bonnay in southern Burgundy .
Near to Cluny , Cormatin and Taizé , and the celebrated vineyards of the Maconnais, Beaujolais , and Côte Chalonais.
A stone built house which has been entirely renovated , but retains it’s original features ( large beamed ceilings, stone fire place ) well furnished throughout , and independent of the owners home next door in the barn .( English owner ).
Comprising of on the ground floor , an open plan sitting/dining room with wood burning stove , and electric radiator, comfortable furnishings, CD player, and pretty view overlooking the village church & gardens. The modern open plan kitchen is fully equipped, and has an electric cooker, gas hob, fridge, washing machine, iron, and a window overlooking the garden. In the Bathroom is a shower with glass door , WC , sink and heated towel rail and mirrored cabinet .
The first floor comprises of two spacious and light and airy bedrooms ( 1 with a double bed and one with 2 single beds ) wardrobes, chest of drawers, full length mirrors and electric radiators in each, both with high beamed ceilings.
Outside the house is a large sunny balcony equipped with table and chairs, overlooking the stone walled garden with grass area, shrubs, flowers and vines, portable barbecue available .
There are also books and tourist information in both French and English available in the gîte for you to read and get to know the area.
Please note * The gîte is not suitable for children under 10 years of age, wheelchair users, or an elderly person who may have difficulty with steepish stairs. *

This is a classified 2 épis Gîte + , all bed linen and towels for the bathroom are included in the price .
Electricity ( which is metered, so you only pay for what you use ) and fire wood for the wood burning stove are extra.
For people wishing to rent during the mid and high seasons, there is the Tax de Séjour which is also not included.
This is a standard Tax for all Gîtes that is paid to the local commune for a 2 épis (2 star) gîte it is 0.50 cents (half a euro) per person per night. There is no tax de séjour charged in the low season.
Nearest airports :- Lyon 1 1/2 hour drive away, St Etienne , Geneva are about 2- 2 1/2 hours away.
Door to door drive from London 11hours.
Or by train, Euro star to Paris, TGV train Gare De Lyon to Macon Loché .Or Lille to Montchanin ( Le Creusot )

Activities - 3 kms fishing , 15 kms horse riding / swimming pool , vineyards 5 kms and 6kms the green route for cycling / walking , where you can hire bikes and cycle through the vineyards and country side stopping off at restaurants and villages along the way. 4 kms tennis, lake 20 km.
Wonderful castles, châteaux, and large country houses, fabulous Romanesque churches and monuments, and just stunning countryside every where you go. This is a particuarly beautiful and friendly corner of Burgundy, with a lot to offer those who seek it out.
