Vacation Rental Description
Colmier le Bas is a quintessential 17th century hamlet with traditional stone walled and terra cotta tiled houses, less than 50 inhabitants and totally safe, nestling in a fold of the hills where Burgundy meets Champagne. This is 'La France Profonde' where the peace and tranquillity are rarely broken by more than a cockerel crowing, a dog barking or a red kite calling - a step back in time to an age that few of us can remember. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where lush meadows, with contented Charolais cows, slope down between the wooded valleys to the nascent river Ource. Walking and cycling here are a joy, either on or off the beaten track, but don't feel quilty if the pool and garden exert an irrestible force.
The cottage has been recently renovated and is mainly, but not exclusively, furnished with antiques. The interior is light and airy where comfort is assured. We make sure that everything works and the standard of cleanliness is all important.
The beds have good quality linen and covers (included in the rental price) and will be made up on arrival. A cot is available on request although pillows, linen and covers for it are not provided. Towels and pool towels are also included in the rental price as also are logs for the odd cool evening.
Do ask us about bicycles which are available for hire at 12 euros per day or 48 euros per week payable on arrival. A damage deposit of £25 is asked for and this is fully refundable at the end of the hire period subject only to retention in the case of damage or miuse.
We can, if booked in advance, prepare an evening meal for you at a cost of £18 per adult and £7.50 for children up to the age of 10. The menu, of 4 courses with wine throughout and coffee to follow, can be tailored to you and your
