Vacation Rental Description
Located in the small hamlet of Kervihan we are just five minutes away from the village of Melrand with its picturesque square with church, post office, shops and bakery for early morning croissants and baguettes.Only a few more minutes away and you can be in the larger towns with banks, supermarkets and all the commercial outlets you would need to enjoy your holiday.
Set in peaceful and private surroundings there is over 5 acres of space to relax and enjoy the wildlife or you may wish to walk around the grounds to see the river, lake or watch the more energetic children having a fantastic time on our 12ft trampoline, splashing around in the pool or enjoying the swings.
TyBrav is ideally placed for enjoying the beaches of the Morbihan Peninsular, visiting the medieval towns or exploring the valley of the Blavet with its walking, cycling, fishing and sailing activities. Many artists use the area and a golf course is only 10 minutes away.
Throughout the year there are activities to suit all age groups and the accomodation is ideal for a family, groups of friends as well as large family groups, sleeping up to 11 people and organised over two independent floors so there can be privacy as required. The wood burner and central heating ensures that out of season holidays can also be enjoyed in comfortable surroundings.
The south west facing balcony around the house and patio area is ideal for sipping a glass of wine or Breton cider and nibbling local cheese or pate whilst watching the butterflies and wild birds around you.
Set on over five acres of private grounds there is plenty of space for enjoying the peace and tranquility of the natural environment. The woodland offers welcome shade when it is hot or you need a change from sunbathing.
The small lake attracts wildlife and there are fish in our river at the bottom of the garden as well as the well known carp fishing in the Blavet River nearby.
The house is only a 5 minute drive to Melrand, a typical French village with lovely church set in the square where you can shop or dine. If you want to travel a little further afield you can be in our nearby towns within 20 minutes with all the commercial facilites you could wish for.
Facilities
The accommodation is set over two floors with a large summer kitchen leading onto the patio area with tables, chairs and BBQ. There are two bedrooms and a shower room on this floor whilst on the floor above there is a lounge/dining room for more formal occasions, a kitchen, a double bedroom, two twins with shared access to a washroom and a separate toilet and bathroom. The principal rooms have french doors leading onto a balcony so you can sit in bed whilst looking over the grounds as the sun rises in the morning. There is a marble staircase between the two floors but each floor can be accessed from outside without the need to use this stairway. Less mobile guests can enjoy all the facilies on each floor without the need to use the stairs. Garden furniture for the patio and grounds as well as on the balcony is provided. There is ample car parking space at the end of our long private driveway.
Activities
In our village of Melrand there is a Medieval farm with animals for a day's visit. There is also a lake and walks in the area, marked on a map in the village - pamphlet in the the house.
The beaches at Carnac and Larmour Plage are within an hours drive.
The lovely Morbihan towns are seeped in history and are only a short drive away.

Ideally placed in the Morbihan for enjoying the pleasures of the Blavet valley with walking, cycling, fishing and canoeing, whilst being only a drive away from the beautiful coastline with its many islands and nearby medieval towns. Returning guests comment upon the lovely surroundings and views with birdsong to wake you in the morning whilst only a stones throw away from all the holiday activities you would expect in Brittany. - Travel Info: Ideally located between the Brittany ports for sailings from Ireland or Plymouth to Roscoff, Portsmouth to St Malo/Caen/Cherbourg. Condor ferries from the Channel Islands to St Malo. Approximately 7.5 hr drive from Calais. Flights into Dinard with Ryan air (car hire available). Rennes, Nantes, Brest or St Breuic .

Tybrav is our French home and although labelled a 'gite' it is truley a magnificent house in a supurb location. The furniture and decore is there for us to enjoy, not just our guests and we try to ensure that is has a homely feel for total relaxation.
Located in the Morbihan we are well placed for exploring the inland area as well as the coast and the islands. Whilst still being accessible to the north for ease of transport to the UK and Ireland as well as the motorways to the South of France.
There is an abundance of wildlife in our grounds and the views are lovely throught all of the season.
Walking, fishing or cycling is locally based along the famous Blavet Valley and more 'mature' groups of friends would have a great time here! I know because I am becoming one of them myself!
La Tourell is a great place to eat in Melrand and Gwenn the owner always makes us welcome. The boulangerie offers great baguettes and on mothers day the children are all given a rose to give to their mums. Everyone in the area are so friendly and helpful.
Lamour Plage is a must for a great day out on the beach and away from the bustle of the larger resorts.
