Vacation Rental Description
The hamlet nestles in 3 acres of rural tranquillity with panoramic views over the adjoining lake DORDU, yet sandy beaches, picturesque ports, medieval towns and villages are all within easy reach. Good golf courses, horse riding, fishing walking and cycling are close by. KERHOTTEN provides an ideal base for a totally relaxing holiday but with plenty of interest and activities for our more energetic guests. Kerhotten has been imaginatively and lovingly restored and provides three superb detached cottages retaining many of their original features.

Each property contains an ample supply of books, games and suggested excursions near and far. Lounges have TV, VCR and DVD.

Externally the cottages share the 30ft x 20 ft solar heated swimming pool (now fenced and alarmed) with sun-trap patio equipped with pool-side furniture. The gardens surrounding the properties are attractive and well stocked, with the added interest of an original Breton bread oven.
The extensive grounds provide ample space for the more boisterous activities (climbing frame, football goal badminton net etc.)Whilst retaining sufficient space for quiet relaxation and contemplation. Guest can enjoy a quiet game of boules, try their luck fishing in the lake (reached directly from our grounds) or take a gentle stroll round the lake. For our younger guests the lake also has a small beach and children’s` play area.
The LAC DU DORDU is accessible directly from our grounds and includes small beach, lakeside bar and children’s play area. Fishing at lake LAC DU DORDU has some large common carp, large Pike, tench perch and last season even some wild trout, and fishing permits can be purchased for a day for 4€ at the village bar, so why not try your luck at fishing and with a variety of bird life makes an idyllic retreat treat. Driving is a pleasure on wonderfully quiet country roads which wind through beautiful tree lined valleys and sleepy villages. This is a fantastic area for cycling, rambling and bird watching. It is an artist’s paradise with wonderful light and a painting every time you turn around.

We all had a fantastic 2 weeks in Langoelan. The house is lovely, swimming pool and playing field great fun and the setting of the houses by the lake is so picturesque. Local shops, resturenstants and boulangeries in Pontivy, St Nicholas and Guemene were really rice to spend time in too. The amount of things to do with your time is endless, and we’ve all greatly enjoyed our time here.
Thank you Garry, Jackie and Jennie !

To Jackie & Garry – you have been great! Lots to talk about particularly all your local knowledge. The gite is one of the best we have had with all our experiences in France. The reviews are second to none; very beautiful and peaceful, what more could one wish for. We hope to be back next year and we will certainly book again with you. Thank you so much for being so kind and wonderful hosts.

We enjoyed a half – term break with children and grand children. Weather started off poor with fine rain and cold, but brightened up towards the end of the week to blazing sunshine. We enjoyed the pool, walks round the lake and longer trips to Vannes and Lamore Pelage. The children enjoined the beach on Lac du Gurleden for a shorter trip. Jackie and Garry, helpful as always. Local shop in Langoelan is open on Sunday, but supermarkets etc shut, so food planning is necessary, especially on arrival.
Overall a beautiful and peaceful spot.

Kerhotten is a beautiful place and Garry and Jackie could not have been nicer or more helpful and welcoming. The Granary is very comfortable and the kitchen is better stocked that at home! Boules was great fun. Many historical places visited, museum at St Marcel – excellent. Also Suscinio chateau and Josselin chateau well worth a visit. Good golfing also.
Thank you to Garry and Jackie for providing a very warm relaxing visit.

Kerhotten is a find. We’ve had a very relaxing week and enjoyed being here at the Farmhouse so much and visiting the surroundings. It’s been great having so beautiful lake on our doorstop and playground for the children we’ve also enjoyed the evening meals at La Florentine pizzeria in the village. Garry and Jackie have been excellent hosts, providing useful local info and a relaxing environment for us. The gardens are beautifully well tended too.
It would be lovely to come again and we’ll certainly recommend Kerhotten to others!
    Many thanks
