Vacation Rental Description
The house is a recently built property in a charming development in the small rural French hamlet of Loperhet in the Morbihan, Brittany. It is within a 15-minute walk of the lovely beach at Erdeven with its eight kilometres of sandy beach, water sports and forty kilometres of marked tracks for walkers and cyclists. There is a path to the main beach from the house and in the other direction you can walk to the local chapel and lavoir. Erdeven is your nearest main village (about 5 minutes by car) and has plenty of facilities.
The house is within easy reach of the prehistoric site of Carnac with over three thousand standing stones which are arranged in parallel lines culminating in a semi-circle around Menec. In fact the whole of the Morbihan is dotted with menhirs, dolmen, tumuli and cromlecs, some dating back to about 1000 BC.
The Morbihan is a fantastic area of sandy beaches and islands. Boat trips are available all around the bay and allow you to explore the islands in full. You are within a 20 minute drive of Quiberon and the Cote Sauvage with excellent sandy coves and good surfing.
You are also within a half hour drive of the beautiful towns of Vannes, the capital of the Morbihan with its medieval half timbered buildings, and 20 minutes away from Auray with its ancient quarter of St-Goustan, not forgetting the yachting centres of St Philibert and LaTrinite sur Mer a 15 minute drive away, along with the oyster port of Locmariaquer and its range of megalithic sites.
There are golf courses and horse riding facilities nearby and throughout July and August there are numerous fetes and medieval fairs.
Downstairs the house has a spacious open plan design with a well equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge. Patio windows open onto an enclosed, safe garden with a patio and lawn area. There is a downstairs toilet and also a garage, ideal for storing your bicycles. There is room to park two cars on the drive.
Upstairs there are three good-sized bedrooms, two with twin beds and one with a queen bed (master bedroom). There is also a bathroom (bath only with hand held shower over) and separate toilet.
