Vacation Rental Description
The property is a beautifully renovated, heavily beamed former ' smithy ' and sleeps 6.Exposed beams throughout,3 bedrooms comprising, 1 double with ensuite and 2 twin bedrooms plus family bathroom. Enjoy the Bretton sun from your own south facing terrace that leads to the garden and pool. Why not enjoy Christmas or see the New year in at La Forge, fully decorated for the festive season, a warm log fire waiting for your arrival.
La Forge is situated in an attractive hamlet nestling in the verdant Tarun Valley and close to the market towns of Baud and Locmine with all commerce's and good restaurants.
The River Tarun with its trout is only 100 metres away. (Fishing permits are available according to season). Go out of the garden down the lane and across the bridge. You are now in the herons’ domaine where kingfishers play, heron and Otter's fish and buzzards wheel overhead.
Ideally situated and within easy reach of the medieval towns of Vannes and Josselin, beautiful beaches, picturesque ports and the many attractions of The Gulf of Morbihan with its myriad inlets and pre-historic treasures.
The nearby Blavet Valley with its wide towpaths, and the ancient forests of Floranges and Camors with their wide tracks are ideal for walking, cycling and enjoying their flora and fauna, whilst the “Adventure Course” at Camors is particularly popular with children (and adults) of all ages.
No holiday would be complete without a visit to the world-renowned Carnac stones or La Grand Plage voted one of France's top 20 beaches plus my favorite an ice cream bar with 125 flavours of ice cream...heaven...lol; the re-constructed medieval village of “Poul Fetan” or the chic and internationally renowned yachting centre and marina at La Trinite Sur Mer are all there for a great day out.
Not to be missed is the vibrant medieval quarter of Auray - St Goustan - where you can sample the local crepes and/or seafood seated at one of the many restaurant terraces overlooking this attractive and historically famous port whilst watching “the world and his wife” pass by.
Many sporting activities, including top class golf courses, sailing, scuba diving and Horse riding are all to be found in the locality. Whilst the numerous local markets, fetes and pardons welcome visitors and provide a fascinating insight into Breton culture and traditions.
Whether you are seeking a relaxing family holiday lazing by the pool, or perhaps something a little more energetic, whatever your tastes and preferences, you can be assured of finding something to please everyone in this wonderful corner of Brittany.
