Vacation Rental Description
Nestling on the Brittany/ Normandy border, these two delightful gites are furnished and equipped to five star standards while retaining their historic character. The gites benefit from a heated (in summer) 7 metre swimming pool in a walled garden and offer a croquet lawn (with ample opportunity for cheating!) and a boules court. There are rural views and pleasant local walks, while nearby sports include horse riding, trout fishing, tennis and golf, and an amusement park is just 20 kilometres away.
Ninety minutes or less from ferry ports at St Malo, Caen or Cherbourg and Caen, Rennes or Dinard airports, your dog-friendly holiday homes are approximately half way between Fougéres and Avranches (~15 - 18km). We are about a kilometre from the village of St Georges de Reintembault with minimarket, petrol station, bakery, butchers hairdressers, cinema,bars and 6 km from St James, famous for its knitwear. The nearest beach is about 20 minutes away.
Sightseeing could not be easier: within about 45 minutes drive are Mont St Michel; the fishing village of Concale; medieval Vitré; Dinan, the artist's colony; Bayeux; and the Normandy beaches. Saumur, in the heart of the Loire valley, is about two and a half hours, while we have made the trip to Paris in around three and a half hours.
La Pommeraie:
La Pommeraie is so called because it is a charming and luxurious nineteenth century farmhouse, situated in an orchard. It has views over rolling farmland. It is equipped to a very high standard and will sleep up to 8 people in 2 double bedrooms, one twin-bed room and one room with bunk beds. We also provide a travel cot and high chair if required. La Pommeraie has a family bathroom with WC, a shower room with WC and a separate WC. La Pommeraie has electric central heating and a cheerful wood burning fireplace to snuggle up by on those crisp winter evenings.
There is a FreeSat satellite TV and DVD player in the sitting room and an ample supply of books, DVDs and games. Comfortable furniture includes three 3-piece sofas. La Pommeraie offers a separate dining room, so there is plenty of space for everybody.
The separate kitchen is well equipped with oven/hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. A utility area contains the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Bed linen, towels and guest soaps are provided plus a welcome pack of bread, butter, milk, tea and coffee.
A basket of logs is provided in winter.
La Pommeraie benefits from a private garden with permanent charcoal barbecue, ideal for those warm summer evenings.
The gite shares a 7-metre pool, heated in summer, in a secure and secluded walled garden, with an assortment of outdoor games including boules and croquet.

We are <90 minutes from St Malo, Caen, Cherbourg ferries; Rennes, Dinard or Caen airports, between Fougéres (18km) and Avranches (16km). St James 6km. Just a 1km stroll to St Georges de Reintembault, with local shops, bars and restaurant.
