Dinan is a castellated medieval town commanding the approaches to Brittany from the sea along the major navigation of the Rance. This large river, which debouches in the estuary of Dinard and Saint Malo, can be marvelled when arriving by ferry at Saint Malo (the Saint himself is buried in the Dinan town church and the story of his enterrement is told in the Church's renowned stained glass windows). There is a market in the Place de Guesclin every Thursday, at which all local produce is available. Also in the Place de Guesclin is the local Tourist Board which has an excellent web-site and 'virtual tour', use Google to look for Dinan Accueil- look for current events in 'Fetes'(of which the major one, the Fete de Remparts, is held in July. The Tourist Office itself is less than 10 minutes walk, from the house, through the Town Centre. On the way there, you will pass numerous cafe-bars, and restaurants, which are open most days. It is an easy walk down the steep and evocative Rue \Jezual to Dinan Port, on the Rance, where there are boat trips and canoes can be hired. Again plenty of restaurants and cafe-bars.
Local activities roller blading, surfing, water skiing, wind-surfing, cycling, diving, fishing, golf, horse riding, sailing, swimming, tennis, walking
The property's full postal address is: 2 Rue de l'Amiraute, Dinan, 22100, FRANCE. Rue de l'Amiraute('RdeA') is a narrow 'oneway' street leading into Rue de Brest (the main street from the West, which becomes the Rue Rouaieries and then the Place Duclos). The easiest route is to turn off the Rue de Brest, West of RdeA into Rue Egaults des Noes; turn left into Rue des Fontaines and then left into RdeA. You can park in Rue Lammenais, which is about 50 metres before 2RdeA. You can park outside 2RdeA, but please make sure that the neighbour opposite can get out of his parking area, by parking away from the Rue de Brest. You must not park in RdeA on Tuesday pm/Wednesday and Friday pm/Saturday, when the Rubbish is collected. You should leave your rubbish out on Tuesday/Friday night (collection is between 6 and 7 am.). If you need to throw out rubbish at any other time, there is a rubbish dump ('dechetterie') in the Zone Industrielle, the other side of Quevert on the way to Champion/LeClerc
