Maison du Port is a lovely, four bedroomed holiday house right on the North Brittany coast at Cap Frehel, half an hour from St Malo and a short drive from Pleneuf, St Cast, Matignon and Sables d’Or.

There is a large entrance hall with a huge dresser which houses all the bits and pieces you may need like torches, maps of the area,and so on. Beyond is ample space for hanging coats and under the stairs you will find beach toys, garden games and all the household cleaning stuff filed away in baskets.
The secluded garden is situated in front of the house. It contains a barbecue and a rotary drying line. There is plenty of garden furniture for eating outside and lots of room for children to play. Beyond the area laid to gravel is a grass section, which we leave to grow wild through the summer.
The large kitchen/diner is equipped with everything you need. There is a gas oven and hob, a washing machine, a fridge and a freezer.The dining table will seat 8-10 comfortably (it has extensions at both ends) and the huge oak dresser is packed with plenty of cutlery, crockery and glassware. We have also provided picnicware for days out at the beach.
On the other side of the hallway is the sitting room, equipped with a large woodburner.There are several sofas and chairs, plenty of space for everyone to sit, and a television hidden away in the cabinet. There is a Cable TV connection and a large selection of books to borrow.
There are 4 bedrooms:
• Bedroom 1 has a double bed, a chest of drawers, a hanging space and a single bed;
• Bedroom 2 is the smallest bedroom but still fits a double bed, a hanging wardrobe and a dressing table;
• Bedroom 3 has a double bed, a chaise longue, a dressing table and a hanging space;
• Bedroom 4 is designed primarily with children in mind as there is a bunk bed which is double on the bottom and single on the top. There is also a hanging wardrobe.
The bathroom upstairs houses a shower, sink and a toilet and there is a second separate toilet.

The House is ideally situated for exploring the riches of the Cotes D’Armor. The coastal path which leads right around the peninsular to the famous Fort La Latte and the Cap Fréhel Lighthouse starts just across the road. Cap Frehel is an area of outstanding natural beauty and offers an abundance of walks, picnic spots and opportunities for birdwatching.

The coastal drive to Erquy and Pleneuf gives the most spectacular views of miles of unspoilt beaches and craggy coastline. You can take your pick of many fine, sandy beaches, all within a ten minute drive from the house or you may want to wander along the banks of the River Frémur, right on the doorstep, to catch a glimpse of some of the rare birds found here.

There is an excellent golf course five minutes away and a swimming pool available in nearby Fréhel.

If you are a sea-food fan, there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby at Fréhel, Matignon and St Cast. And just around the corner from the house is a small family run crêperie and a mussel farm retailer.

Just across the road from Maison du Port there is a Bouquinerie/Brocante, an eclectic little shop selling second hand books (some of them in English) and some interesting bric-à-brac. Markets are held somewhere in the neighbourhood every day, the best being at St Cast just along the coast, on a Monday.

And to round off the day, just before sunset, you can wander up to the local goat farm to watch the herd coming in for milking, escorted by an avuncular donkey!

St Malo, which is half an hour away, is an original fortified town. There are plenty of good restaurants here; the shopping is chic and a walk around the ramparts gives fantastic views of the bay and Dinard in the distance. You can take the little train for a fun tour of the city, vist the Fair or watch the world go by in one of the many street cafes.

Maison du Port is situated right on the cast near Cap Frehel so there is a wide variety of activities available from walking the cliff path to spending the day on one of the many sandy beaches nearby. There are several places nearby where you can do watersports and there are horseriding centres nearby as well as a couple of excellent golf courses.

This is a large house with an enclosed garden and a terrace for eating out. The kitchen is well-equipped and there are picnic things as well as beach toys and games, deck chairs and parasols for taking to the beach.

High Season Price : €600 per Week

We offer flexible dates and a Monday changeover to save on ferry fares.

Payment
A non-refundable deposit of 25% per week is required at the time of booking;the balance due 8 weeks before the commencement of the rental period. Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer.

Cancellation
Cancellations must be notified in writing. If you wish to cancel a confirmed booking more than 8 weeks before the commencement of the rental period, the non-refundable deposit will be retained, all other
payments will be refunded. If the cancellation occurs less than 8 weeks before the commencement of the rental period no refund will be possible unless we are able to relet the accommodation for the cancelled period and any expenses incurred in doing so will be deducted.

Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit of 150 Euros is payable with the final remittance.
