Large gardens, sitting in the centre of its own land, in beautiful countryside. Complete calm. Coast 30 mins.
Vacation Rental Description
The house is situated in open countryside on the periphery of a small hamlet. The village of St. Maden is about one mile away. Caulnes, which has banks, shops (including smallish supermarkets) and bars/restaurants, is about 10 minutes away.Dinan is 9 miles away and is a beautiful medieval walled town with numerous restaurants and attractions. It has a delightful port area, on the river Rance, and many historic monuments. Every other year the town holds its Fete de Remparts - where the whole town is filled with medieval events including jousting, medieval banquets, stalls and shows, many inhabitants wear medieval clothing for the there day duration of the festival. The timing of the event tends to change but is usually in July/August, the next one is July 2012.
Bedrooms. The house has three Double Bedrooms, 1 Single Bedroom. Bedroom 1 has en suite WC, wash basin and bidet. Bedroom 4 has a double bed but is small and counted as a single. Ground floor one has a full-sized double sofa bed. (Room doubles as sitting room). There is a cot available.
Bathrooms. 1 Bathroom, 1 Shower room. 2 separate WCs. Bathroom also has WC, wash basin and bidet. En suite WC, bidet and wash basin. One other separate WC.
Kitchen is very well-equipped. Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. The washing machine and ironing area are in a separate utility room.
Dining. Seating for 8. Dining table in kitchen/parlour area is large farmhouse type. High chair.
Satellite TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD system. British TV is available via Sky Freeview.
Outside. Private above ground pool 22 x 14 x 4 feet with salt water filter system. Trampoline. Terrace. Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden furniture. South-facing sunny courtyard in front surrounded by own land/garden. There is also a tree-shaded terrace. No adjacent properties, however, other houses in near vicinity.
Suitability. Children Welcome. Suitable for elderly.
Activities. The nearest beaches are about 1/2 hour away eg St Jacut, Ploubalay, Dinard and St Briac. The beaches of Cap Frehel are about 45 minutes away and are quite stunning.
Cap Frehel is French National Trust land with heather, wild thyme and gorse covered cliffs and a dramatic, rocky coastline with many fine beaches. There is a lighthouse and a castle built on rocks out at sea (Fort la Latte).
There are several golf courses with low green fees. There is local horse riding. There are bikes available at the house. There is a huge lake with swimming, boating etc about 10 minutes away.
Dinan, which is about 15 minutes away, has many restaurants both in the old town and around the port. The village, a mile away, has a plan de, or lake, where there is a play area for children, a boules pitch and fishing.
Facilities
Ample deckchairs, loungers and hammocks. Outside dining table and chairs. BBQ. Chiminea. Trampoline. Bikes. The house is cleaned before arrival and on departure. Extra cleaning may be arranged at extra cost as may washing/ironing. There are ample duvets, pillows and towels for house use and for the beach. Beds can be made up ready for your arrival at an extra cost or you may bring your own sheets, duvet covers etc. Wifi is available at an extra cost of £10 per week. There is an ample supply of crockery, glasses etc and it would be appreciated if the blues and white china on the welsh dresser was not used.
Activities
There is an excellent Tourist Office in Dinan which has details of nearby activities.

A deposit of 20% of the rental is required at the time of booking and the balance is payable one month before departure. At this time a (separate) cheque for £300 is required as a deposit against breakage/damage. Payment by cheque or internet banking. Payment may also be made in Euros (rate at time of payment). If cancellation is made after full payment has been made, refunds will only be made if house is relet for the cancelled period. A discount of 10% is available on Brittany Ferries.

French Farmhouse in beautiful Breton countryside - exclusive use
The farmhouse, whilst not being completely isolated, is surrounded by open countryside. There are large gardens where you can relax without being disturbed.
You will receive, before your holiday, details of the area, restaurants etc.
Dinan is a Medieval Town with much historic interest. It has a port on the River Rance where there are many restaurants and bars.
The coast is 30 minutes away and has beautiful beaches and many cliff walks.
