Although conveniently situated for the N12 highway the house is 100 metres away from the nearest lane - this has no passing traffic and soon peters out into a grass path.It is detached in over 1/2 acre of ground. There is a large conservatory on the south facing front, enclosing the front door and bedroom window. There is a good sized living room about 25m square with comfortable seating, a dining area and an open fire. One door leads to the kitchen and one to the ground floor bedroom - about 15 sq metres. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you might need including a full size electric cooker, washing machine, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, microwave and Brita water filter jug (bring your own filters!) Off the kitchen is a small shower room and separate WC. The electric water heater is here.
From the living room, there is a steep open plan staircase to the charming wood-panelled second bedroom. This has a velox window in the roof with views over the open countryside. There is a stairgate for the top and bottom of the stairs. The tiny third bedroom is not available to guests as the owners keep it as a store room.
The large area of ground behind the house is mostly grass and trees and since it is surrounded by fields of cows, is ideal for children and completely safe. There are three bicycles available in the garage, kept in good order, but the owners can take no responsibility for any mishaps that occur during their use. There are electric radiators and a calor gas heater in the living room together with an inset wood-burning stove. There is a TV/VCR with English Freeview programmes (by satellite) and a radio/tape/CD player and a good selection of books and games in the bench under the stairs. There is also now a DVD player. The main bedroom has a double bed, with two single beds in the bedroom upstairs - all of which are supplied with their own duvets and pillows. Guests are required to supply their own duvets covers, sheets, pillow cases and towels.
The house is always kept in good decorative order, inside and out, and is well and comfortably furnished. The floors are mainly finished in ceramic tiles and the ceilings are all wood-panelled. The overall effect is light and bright, cosy, and very attractive. The south-facing conservatory catches the sun from early in the day and gets very warm even in the winter. There are loungers and garden furniture provided, together with a charcoal barbeque. There is plenty of room for parking in the driveways. The house is in a semi-rural situation and is very quiet and private - a real little hideaway!
