Vacation Rental Description
This medieval village has been described as a boat between two hills. Its 12th century church is a focal point for many visitors. The ancient Roman church features several works of art (a Romanesque wooden crucifix & a late 15thcentury statue of the Virgin Mary). Information, maps & tours are available to you from the tourist office here at Auzon during the summer months, so you can navigate your way through the cobbled, winding hilly streets of this charming historic village.
Auzon is situated in the Haute Loire, within the Auvergne region of France, right next to the Allier & Auzon river. It is approximately 40 minutes South of Clermont Ferrand & just 10 minutes away from the A75 (J 18) route to the Mediterranean.
ACCOMMODATION:
Auzon is a charming stop off point to explore the local region & relax in the tastefully refurbished bourgeoise rooms available on our third floor.
Consisting of a bathroom and two double bedrooms, the larger bedroom can also accommodate an extra one to two children (additional fees).
There is also wi fi on the premises, for those of you who need to keep in touch with the real world or to book tickets for anything.
Activities
Beautiful walks around the village take you directly to the peaceful countryside & to the small Auzon river. The river flows down to meet the Allier river close by. Canoeing can be arranged from the nearby town of Brioude via the Allier river, conveniently finishing at Auzon.
This village boasts three restaurants/ bars, two museums, a boulangerie, a pharmacy, gift shop, tourist information office & grocery shop.
