Entrance to the cottage is through french doors leading from the private enclosed garden. Inside is the large kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has all mod.cons including electric oven, hob and extractor, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing-machine, and microwave. There are also small electrical items such as slo-cooker, sandwich toaster, toaster, filter coffee maker, and kettle.
Downstairs there is the separate toilet and bathroom.The bathroom has a small bath, power shower, vanity unit with washbasin. Iron and ironing board are supplied. There are two sitting rooms, one of which is designed with your entertainment in mind, having tv, video player, collection of videos, and music centre, with radio, cassette and cd player. The second sitting room has two sofas, one of which is a good quality double-bed settee. There are board games and books for your leisure. A beautiful open-tread oak staircase leads the way upstairs to the two adjoining bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, the other two single beds. Both rooms have wood flooring, exposed beams and dormer windows which look out across the grounds at La Platriere and the countryside beyond.
The cottage is centrally heated throughout, and conforms to new EU regulations in FRance regarding fire safety. The private garden has a barbeque, outside table and chairs and parasol.
Guests staying in the cottage are welcome to use the larger grounds at la Platriere, where there is a large swimming pool (with an alarm system conforming to new safety standards), sun-bathing terrace with sun-loungers and garden chairs and tables, petanque court (please borrow our boules), childrens play area with swings and pets corner where we have two pigmy goats, Freyar and Bilbo.
The owners live in the main house at La Platriere and run a "bed and breakfast", so they are on site to help you with any questions you have about the accommodation or places of interest to visit. Also if you do not feel like cooking you are welcome to book into their "tables d'hotes" for an evening meal, and chat with other guests.
The views from the gardens at La Platriere are stunning, looking down across a valley across woods and rural countryside. The tone is quiet and peaceful, yet there is lot to do in the area if you wish. Locally (5kms) there are large lakes in the Troncais Forest, where you can go swimming, or canoeing, windsurfing or take lessons at the sailing school. If you are a keen angler then you will be spoilt by the many lakes, and rivers to fish from.

The cottage at La Platriere is tastefully furnished for your comfort. It is spacious and light and airy, easily sleeping 4 people in the 2 bedrooms (one double, one twin-bedded) with the option of an addional 2 more on the comfortable bed-settee in the 2nd living room.
